This is actually not true. You can find CITAS in almost any good sized Christian music store these days, because EMICMG now has a really great thing called bargain bins. They release new editions every few months and they are loaded with older product from the company's backlist and sell for only $6.99. CITAS almost always shows up in them, as well as other older Petra albums. For that price you can't go wrong.

Thank you.

Someone posted earlier that Mardel said that it was out of print. I just went to Mardel here in Tulsa at Christmas. They have (had) CITAS on CD. The person that you were talking to was reading from the wrong distributor list.

The stores buy their inventory from distributors/suppliers. Mardel buys the bulk of their inventory from 5 companies. Sometimes the labels are purchased (in the case of Star Song). Those labels then have product moving through a different distributor. The files are not updated and/or the store sees Star Song listed out of print on the old distributor list, when the records have all been remastered and re-released and are on their shelves. These young kids at Mardels do not know Christian music history, the label information, nor are the paid to. There used to be one guy that wrote a book comparing the secular styles to the Christian bands, etc. He knew his stuff, but he is long gone.

I think the real question here is not whether the CD is available, because the CD is very readily available. The question is whether the VIDEO is available. As far as I have been able to determine, it is not. I think the guy from EMI didn't have his specific facts about this specific video. Maybe what we need is a fan push to actually FIND THE VIDEO. Because if it's out there to be bought new, in any format (even VHS) that I can play, I'd glady fork out for it. We don't own a copy of the video.

Yeah, I'm totally talking about the Vid. I purchased CITAS CD legally at my local bookseller like 86 months ago. You can buy CITAS on CD at 7-11 for $1.99 (not really, thats just a commentary on the relative scarcity of the video) in Jenison for the love of Pete.

I emailed Family Christian and demanded they find me a sealed, brand new copy of CITAS on VHS.

I think they know how to play ball.

Re-read my posts. They HAVE the old video production masters. They own them. They have the audio out there, and that is more important to them. They want to get all music inventory on the DSP's. According to them DVD's do not sell as well and cost twice as much to manufacture, pay royalties, etc.

They could release VHS tapes, but that would be silly, and cost prohibitive.

A DVD could be made to happen technically. That is not the issue. The issue is purely that the publisher(s) would want more money than the label is willing to give up per song. The publisher may not want the video on DVD, if at all. EMI has to have a DVD/product with twice as many songs (or mucho bonus materials) as the original releases on CD to make it attractive to the public. When you add the extra material, you add expenses, royalties, etc.

I agreed to drop it. Richard Greene said that it is "dead" and that "he would not pursue it". He assured me that it is "big business" and "if we (EMI) thought that it would sell, we would have it out".

I e-mailed Bob and told him that I would drop it, and that I was not trying to get into his business by going to him or Richard, or go around the band to make a buck (I would not take a penny for providing gear and serviced and JDB would work for substantially less) but was merely wanting a piece of history to be preserved while it is still possible, and was willing to make that happen technically.

So, this is it for me. It is a dead issue with me, because it is with Bob, EMI and that settles it.

A few years ago I was at a Family Christian Store and I found a video by Carman well I actually had to order this video but it was in their stock but anyways the video was released about the same time Captured In Time
& Space so there has some stores out there still has to be a some brand new copies of Captured In Time And Space somewhere, but the question is where? And Jonathan that was a great idea to e-mail Family Christian.

It seems so sad that such a valuable ministry tool has been treated like so much ground beef on some fat butchers cutting block. Some times I just really wish we could just leave the record companies out of the whole equation.

They are too much old. and you could not get them.
it's on everyone's mind...if someone feel guilty...
so do NOT download them.
