Prayer Request Here Too

Post by brent » Thu Mar 17, 2005 3:22 pm

A former boss of mine at Ford Audio Video Systems in Tulsa is in the hospital. David Schultz has pancriatic cancer. He has not been well. I hope and pray that he comes to the Lord, if he has not already.

I was about to make a joke about bosses getting sick but this is serious :(

Lord, we wanna put David in Your hands today. Lord, use this situation to glorify yourself, that through all this, David can be able to see you for first time in case he hasn`t, take control of His body and fill him with your Holy Spirit and give him the comfort and peace he needs right now. That he can be able to come out of the hospital and also with a revival in his spirit.

In Jesus name, amen.

Pancreatic cancer is pretty nasty, I'll keep him in my prayers. I pray he's saved too.

Well, Dave Shultz passed 03/19 at 4:00am.

God I hope he was saved! Some people are so secretive, that you just can't get a door to open to share. The sad thing is, while I was around him most, I wasn't able to share if the door opened. This will haunt me till...forever.

I wonder how many I am responsible for.

My condolences to you Brent. Let me share something a couple of very caring and wise friends of mine told me recently. It is up to us to sow the seeds, but changing someone's heart is God's job. While you may not have been able to share the Word by speaking about it with him, your actions and your caring are your witness. One of my favorite quotes is attributed to Francis of Assisi: "Preach always; if necessary, use words."

That's a shame; Bridget is right though. You plant the seeds, God does the work.

that`s EXACTLY what I was going to say. seems great minds think the same shell and bridget hehehehehe ;)

i`m sure you didn`t know him ALL his life, maybe someone spoke to him and you didn`t know, maybe he did made the prayer in the past, maybe maybe maybe.... but anyways, God always gives us at least ONE chance to know him, some people might wonder and what about the people from africa who prolly never heard about Jesus? there`s a part on the bible that say God will judge them differently or something like that, i can`t remember right now.

WELL, the point IS that you can be sure God took care of him, if he had people praying for him like you did, I`m sure God took care of those prayers.

and as the rest of the people said, our jobs is to plant the seed and is God`s job to work in the heart.

I don't believe that God gives everyone a chance. If he did, the bible wouldn't say what happens to those who die never having a chance to hear the gospel. That is in Romans. It does say however that creation should be testimony enough.

The other issue is that the bible says that there will come a time when we believers will have the blood of sinners lost on our hands. So for that to happen, we must turn people off, or turn away from opportunities.

Maybe there is a medium that I haven't found yet. I feel for now that I will be accountable for Dave's fate.

The Bible says God doesn't want anyone to perish. And God made us in His image; His word is written on our hearts. However, He gave us free will and whether we choose His path or our own is up to us.

brent, just think on this: what about the hundred of people in asia long time ago and of africa who died without hearing the Gospel? and on this case it would be that missions didn`t got there yet. what about america before it was discovered? what about those indians?

yes, I do believe God will demmand some blood from our hands but I also believe that is our job to plant a seed. sometimes we say the word and someone else gets to make the prayer with the person.

as I said brent, you didn`t know his life 100% you didn`t know about his relationship with God. don`t be too hard on you without knowing all facts.

I wrestle with that question just as many Christians do...are those who really never had a chance to encounter Jesus Christ doomed to eternal punishment without ever having a chance to encounter Jesus Christ?

But I do know God is holy, and God is just. "No one gets to Father but by me..."

God is Holy and God is just... and that`s why I believe there must be an answer to that question and I don`t think it is "well, they went to hell."
