Maybe Brent's information (straight from the EMI horse's mouth) was a smidge premature?

This means that they have formatted and packaged the songs for the DSP's. This is music only, as you currently cannot download complete DVD productions from Walmart, i-Tunes, etc. In the future that would be cool.

What a rip-off

They have essentially just put their CDs online. We aren't getting the original full-length versions of CITAS or WWT. So the "missing" and uncut songs are still not available from the record company in a digital format on CD or online.

I wish these guys would do something RIGHT. I mean, what incentive is there for anyone to buy these songs online? None! All these albums can still be purchased as CDs... and you get the liner notes, etc. The only thing that would make this catalog interesting is if they put out the material that is NOT already available on CD...

No incentive

Now, I can see how people might want to buy from this sort of catalog... 'cause I just did it myself on Valentine's day. I was making a mix CD for Cat of a bunch of songs, and I left one of the CDs I was going to use at home (the CD burner I have access to is at work). So I got online and found a place where I could buy the song for a buck twenty-five, and made my CD. And she LOVED it!

What about for people who have memories of certain Petra songs, but don't have the CDs? Maybe never did have them? Or they just want the radio hits that THEY liked. I'd say there's a market for this kind of thing... just not for die-hards like us. I'll pay $1-2 for one song, but if it's the only song I'm interested in on the whole album, I won't pay $10-15 for one song.

Good call, looking for those rare songs in the batches! I hadn't thought of that! You a smart guy.
