SUED Infomation please

Post by executioner » Wed Mar 23, 2005 9:17 am

Sue,

Do you have any info or update on the next Petra release. Bob was very open about it at the Shoutfest concerts last fall and really seemed to be excited about the next album, but other than them saying that Inpop has given the go ahead for a new album in 2005 there has been nothing else said. If it is going to be released this year, they should already be broadcasting the approx. dates of a release and also some idea about the content of the album. If you look at CMCentral and Sporknews all the artists that are releasing something this year is getting that info out to the public. What I am trying to say is the album still a go? and if so is it going to be in 2005?

From what I know, Bob has written some songs, yes, but nothing is in the actual works at this point.

I don't know much more than that, sorry, but it appears that things aren't moving too swiftly.

You may want to email Bob directly and see what he says: [email protected]

I predict an Inpop best of with a few new songs. I know nothing, just guessing.

Seriously, the next one needs some money behind it, so that it sells more than 75k copies. If they were to get a bit more edge, dare I say metal, they could get more of the Japanese, European, etc markets. US market is dead. Go for the markets overseas and then we die-hard loose-brainers in the US get the music that we want. It's too hard to jerk the knee to what the US wants 3 minutes 30 seconds ago.

Sorry to be so harsh, but I hate it when somebody thinks they have the right to email me or give out my email when I didn't even give it to them in the first place. This is a PRIVACY issue and needs to be kept that way.

Okay, what did I miss here?

PS - Whatever the case, any opportunity to openly hassle the Dempstermeister should be relished and exploited to the fullest extent...

Or, it dumps right into a junk mail folder via his filter, or he doesn't get on the internet to check it, or...

He actually responds to emails. Over the last few years I've sent him a few and he has always responded, They are usually one-liners though.

So THERE, historymaker! You missed your exploitive chance.

It's already public knowledge, posted by Mr. Bob himself on Mr. Bob's website.

(notice I didn't give out his PRIVATE email addy??)

WHERE is that tongue-sticking-out emoticon when you need him???

I know you were just playing Brent, but the the worst thing Petra could do right now is a best of or even a Praise & worship album. The best thing would be another full length album somewhat along the lines of JAH. I think they caught the attention of some with JAH.

Isn't that the truth!

If you look at the promotion that J&H received (next to none), compared with what Revival had (not that much, but more than J&H), it's no wonder that the sales numbers aren't that high.

If you look at the tour schedule, Petra's playing far more dates overseas than in the U.S.

Market to the foreigners - and watch the dates roll in.

Dang I thought you were getting sued. Like "SUED" Information please...you know, you know.

I bet you could re-release "On Fire" in Japan and it would top the charts.

That's true. If you look at the prog rock bands, the 80's metal bands, etc, they are thriving over there. They can't get enough of it. It is tough tour over there, but concentration of people = more people covered per air waves, and more soldout venues than in the US.

Good night, even PDC is getting more orders from the Netherlands, Germany, Brazil...most anyplace but the US.

With the right contacts and management from Japan, Petra could be HUGE!

Wock and Woll!

I know some of the secular artists like Aerosmith and Bon Jovi have both said that there is not enough time in a year to get all the requests done for concerts in Europe. On the Crush Tour, Bon Jovi played 25 dates in Europe and the promoters and venues wanted many more dates.
