Seeing Is Believing

Post by petranite » Tue Apr 27, 2010 10:57 am

Well I find it entertaining that Brent & Sue have a nice back and forth on how May "REAL" reunion shows have happened and if Lawry is involved for"Real" or not and how many shows have been booked with a particular lineup vs. another lineup. First let me just say that John Schlitt is my ALL TIME FAVORITE vocalist secular or christian. I would pay to hear John sing the alphabet song followed by the Barney them song. Thats just me though. I also think Sue is right with her skepticism on how many shows are actually booked by "CLASSIC PETRA". I will believe when I see because on this issue I am THOMAS.

Now Sue chill out on Brent this is not a case of him slapping you in the face with one promotor doing a better job he is merely pointing out that there "SEEMS" to be more interest right now in the "CLassic" lineup (Again I use the word seem because I have not seen any facts yet to support it)

Whoever tours closer to me I will go and see and support if classic petra comes within reasonable travel distance I will go excited to see them and maybe even wear some silver CITAS Mark Kelly moon boots to celebrate. If reunion band shows up I will go and maybe shave my head to fit in with Bailey and wear on oversized necklace like John. Either way lets have some fun and enjoy what is left for us to enjoy.

P.S. if David Lichens comes around then I will see Lichens and bring a beer and joint.......ooohhhhh wait was he in Petra woops i hope I din't say that out loud.....

I'm chilling... not bent out of shape at all. Just clarifying some info.

If there is interest in the Classic version - great. There should be interest. I have no problem with that. But as Petranite said, I will also: until I see proof of booked shows, I'll remain skeptical when it comes to numbers.

I know how easy it is to think you have all these dates. Then when it comes time for a promoter to sign on the dotted line and anti-up the deposit --- the date suddenly disappears - along with the promoter. Lots of time invested for nothing.

Tis the nature of the game....

Petranite - if you shave your head, wear big jewelry AND sport moon boots - I'll go to a show just to see YOU!

For the record, Sue and I talk off line. She knows what I know because I told her. I do not know what she knows because she plays by the rules and does not spill the beans to protect her/John's interests. That is as it should be.

She was merely correcting what I read and repeated, that J Lawry was going out with the reunion band. What I read was evidently wrong. So, it is no big deal on her part or mine. She however did not get the spirit behind the message, that Classic is in more demand than Petra. She has an attachment to John and his ongoing ministry, has a past with booking Volz concerts, IIRC, and is (like many of you) maybe finding it hard to believe that this Classic thing will happen, or could be more popular.

As I have stated before, the music industry, fashion, land development, etc is all about hopping on the right wave at the right time and riding it out. It is time in CCM for the classic groups, that were around pre-Schlitt years, to come up for air and hop on a board. That is why they are doing it. Is it a God thing? Is it commerce? All I know is a bunch of people not normally connected are reconnecting throughout the industry, and they all seem to have the same mindset and objective this time around. It is interesting.

While I would never put any musician on par with Jesus....we don't see him and we believe. We can't see a million dollars and know there are some. I have never seen my intestines, but my wife can tell you that they are there soing their thing.

Brent why is it that your wife has to answer for the workings of your intestines? Do you not know full well the goings on in your own bowel system or is it your wife that somehow suffers every time you flatulate. I know my intestines work. My wife does not have to be involved. Get some intestinal fortitude and take responsibility for the goings on of your own intestines. Quit blaming your wife!

I just "digested" the information in the previous posts and wondered how we could have turned down another "tract" without a "hickup" or a "gurgle". This subject has turned out to be a real "gas". I can hardly "stomach" some topics. They make me want to "barf". Most times I just say to myself, "Fart! Another "long windy one". What a "blow hard". This "stinks."

Well, this another thread that has "flushed" out my creative juices for the evening. It is time to "go".
