AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! *yawn* What... PETRA'S BACK! Man I have been sleeping in too much lately lol. I've been ready for a while and I agree with Shell. We just need to give it time for all of it to sink in before we make quick pretentions about what has or what will be said to and about former/current members of this "Petra". I'm crazy excited about this. I got to see Stryper for the first time last year and now I get to add another item to my bucketlist.... PETRA! I don't care what incarnation it is. I get to see one of the bands few people my age (20) and below care for.... classic rock n' roll! lol.

Now the fans might be asking... "What can we do?" A tour must be routed for the fans and huge interest must be show, which is why I believe the proclamation or the long awaited reunion of the early 80's Petra has been great with such enthusiam. Whichever brand you prefer, email your local venues, churches, higher up bars and clubs and beg them to bring that form of the band to your state/area. If you would all like, I can come up with some sort of a "letter of recommendation" for each of you to send to these places. Simply PM me. Petheads, Let's move! lol.

Just talked again on the phone today with Michael Nachtigal and I tell you guys he is the nicest guy in Show Bizz, I can't believe how patient and forthcoming he is when I ask him questions about the PETRA reunion. We need more people like him in the Christian Music industry.

Here's and update from him:

1. He said they just went with a bigger Booking company: WME, that's why the change was made on the website. And again everything is more solid. This company is related to the prior person posted.

2. Today the band had a DVD Pre-production meeting and also had their first recording meeting.

3. There will be 3 CD's first, with 3 new songs each, released over the next 12 months, starting with the first one on August, then the others following. The first one will be finished in 60 days.

4. The music will be released for online download first, then to stores.

5. In the next 3 to 4 weeks they will open an online store with Classic PETRA clothing and accesories, then with the music and DVDs for sale.

6. The DVD taping starts the week of August 22 through 28 in Nashville, TN and fans will be invited to come to the taping. The performances will be repeated to 2 different audiences of 1,500 each. Check classicpetra.com for details.

I know this is somewhat unknown at this point; Tours that are excuted properly for the most part have most of the dates confirmed 3-4 months in advanced. It does seem like it is somewhat unorganized and things of this nature(in the past) seem to not go very well when they are like this.
This can be done with the dates they were hopefull for, but it is getting to the point to where we need to start seeing some evidence of some confirmed dates. Last minute dates like a month out can be damaging to not only that specific date but to the rest of the tour.

It sounds like they are really hopeful for the online sales for the CD's & DVD's, does this mean they do not have a strong distrubition deal in place?

This can be done with the dates they were hopefull for, but it is getting to the point to where we need to start seeing some evidence of some confirmed dates. Last minute dates like a month out can be damaging to not only that specific date but to the rest of the tour.

In all honesty, we have no idea how long this has been in the planning stages. I'm sure Bob is going to have all of his ducks in a row before any full revalations are made. This, at least to me, appears to be well thought out and executed.

Michael said they wanted the fans to have first priority to be able to download the album online the first week of August before it hit stores in CD form. They said they have deals with Sony subsidiaries for distribution too.

Maybe, if people, who are not trying to book Petra, would quit calling these guys and left them alone we would see some things get done. It seems like most of there time is spent talking to fans and not booking concerts!

Sounds like a good way to boost sales. I will definitely not wait for a CD if they release the digital version earlier, but I know that I'm also going to buy the CD. So that's double money for them. And I'm sure there are many more like me.

I'm relaxed. I just think that all of us need to settle down and leave these people alone and let them do what they need to do to get this whole thing up and running.

I am a little curious how they are going to release 3 cds in 1 year and still have time to tour all over the world.
