Now that Petra is officially back again for a 2010/2011 Tour, I was thinking that it should be a great idea to make a 40th Anniversary Tour in 2012. Just imagine that tour all over the world preaching the Gospel of our Lord with their music. Yes, I know that there are many steps in making a tour, but, How many Christian Bands are 40 years old? I think that Petra deserves a great recognition for their career, especially knowing that they started in 1972, a time when many people said that Christian Rock was Devil's Music. But they persevered and with the help of God they are still preaching the message with their music.
What do you think?
Petra: 40 Years of Christian Rock.

Hi,
Forget Christian Rock. How many bands have 40 years?
With 2 different bands now made up of different members, it would be hard for anyone to say "I've been here for 40 years".
It would seem the "modern Petra" would have a better chance of using that label, but I think that beside a few special gigs, we won't see that version for awhile.

You can't really say Petra has been going 40 years...
Final show: 2005
One show: 2007
Four shows: 2010
It hasn't been 40 consecutive years, unfortunately. John's kept the Petra name in the press for the past five years, but he's not Petra.

It would be the 40 year anniversary of the band's founding. It's not unusual to have anniversarys for major events, even if they no longer exist.sue d. wrote:You can't really say Petra has been going 40 years...

That's the point. But the other point is good too. Now we have Classic Petra and Petra...
