Petheads in St Louis?

Hey guys,

I'm new to these forums - though I've been reading here for years actually, since J&H. I finally found a way to email the admin and get my account activated (thanks Daniel!). So, hi.

Anyways, I live (with my family) in St Louis, MO - we moved here in December 2009. I was introduced to Petra by my parents, though I never had much of an interest until (get this), 2005 - yep, the Farewell tour. So I may have the dubious distinction of being the most enthusiastic Petra fan who has never seen Petra (though @ronnycates does follow me on twitter...). Our whole family has been very blessed by Petra's music - in fact we sing much of it together during our devotional times in the morning/evening. To make me more interesting, I guess, I'll also mention that I am the oldest of 13 siblings, that we have all been home-schooled, and we travel in a school bus (RV conversion) - I sometimes call us the "poor man's Duggars". For those who might be wondering, yes, most folks in our "arena" are not exactly huge fans of Christian rock/metal - for background, I twice before playing my natural finish acoustic guitar at our church. But hey, that makes us more interesting.

But enough about me; I'm wondering if there are any other Petheads in the St Louis area? I've talked with Sue before about getting a 2 Guys show down here sometime, but I'm wondering if there's enough interest in the area.

I do know that Josh Renaud of PRMW is only two miles away from our house...

Anyways, I wanted to introduce myself and see if there are any locals hanging around this forum.

I've been to St. Louis. That big metal deally by the river is pretty sweet.

It's also the home of watery beer. I don't fault you for that though, zak. I don't know if you have anything to do with how awful Budweiser is, because I've never met you or discussed that with you.

I still hold a grudge against the Cardinals for demolishing my beloved Tigers in the 2006 World Series.

Certainly possible. I know at least J. Renaud is around here somewhere - actually the reason asked that is because on the Classic Petra blog, a couple commenters - is that a word? - mentioned being from STL - I assumed they would likely have found the blog through TPZ, so I thought I'd check and see. No biggie really.

@Jonathan - can't exactly vouch for the Cardinals - not yet at least; we're newcomers as I said. By the way, IIRC, the metal "deally" by the river was sponsored by McDonalds - after a CEO change the project was cancelled. Looks nice as it is, though. As for the beer, I can't vouch for that either, but I'm told that MO, after repeatedly pleading with the Illinois Water Waste Management to stop dumping waste into the Missouri River, gave up and resorted to bottling it up and marketing it to Illinois as a only-slightly-semi-toxic beverage.
