There really needs to be a way to separate posts and put in to a topic of its own. Then the whole discussion doesn’t have to be moved. Just the parts that are not related to Petra.Meanwhile, a serious question: Why did the off-topic politics thread get shut down after two pages, while the off-topic religion thread has gone on and on? Off topic is off topic, no?
Not bashing Petra, just an honest question.

Maybe he felt the political one was getting too ugly. Believe it or not I didn't appreciate being declared the winner and then having it shut down. Not just because I know it was sarcastic, but because it's not how I would have handled it. I think it would have been better to just say enough is enough guys. If you want to have this discussion do it in the Other Topics forum, but keep it civil. (But that's just me) The same should probably be done with this theological discussion.

Re: Not bashing Petra, just an honest question.
The political thread was getting out of hand (that's usually the case with political threads), and wasn't really accomplishing any good purpose. I think it was the right decision to shut it down, although I might have said something like, "keep it civil" or "get back on topic" first also. Too many folks seem to think their views on politics (or any topic in general for that matter) are the only ones that count and take any differing views as a personal affront. It's not constructive to let an ugly thread continue. As for the theological debate, maybe that should be moved, but then that's not up to me.
As I've said, you can't take this Internet stuff too personally. In the big scheme of things, how much do posts/threads/topics on a message board REALLY matter?
