Good luck with that. I don't think I would take my mother to a Petra concert, I want to enjoy it not get asked so many questions. "Why does the guitar have to be so loud?" "Why don't that drummer cut his hair?" "Why is that singer dancing like he's having a stroke?" "Why is that keyboard player doing indian war chants?" "why is that bass player playing catch me if you can with Bob?"
Yeah just to many questions to enjoy the concert.

possible additional questions from Bakerfieldpetheads mother:
"why are they signing cdr's"
"why do the drums have pictures of Mickey Mouse?"
"why is that man in the corner crying?" (points to John Schlitt)

Well, my dear mother is not a fan of Rock Music but she really enjoy when I put my Petra CD's in our house. Actually, she likes some Petra songs like For Annie, Love, No Doubt and The Battle Belongs To The Lord. And she is over 64 years old...
God Bless my mother.

My mother isn't a fan of Rock either, however She loves "Just Reach Out" the original version. I played her the new version of "More Power To Ya" the other day and she loved that one too.

My mother is 71 and adores Petra --always has. When I was a teenager (she was in her 40s) she was always the one our youth group picked to take us to the concerts. She once waited in the rain holding our spot in the front row for over three hours. It wouldn't be quite the same experience if I went to a Petra show without her.

Sure, I appreciate that, and thought it was funny too. I'd also go for a serious discussion about it, but for some here on the zone any mention of John & classic Petra & you will suddenly turn into a lightning rod. I didn't want to see your innocent joke suddenly become something ugly.
Being as how you are so bent on bringing it up, some people need to get over it and just get on with their life.

Sounds like she's a very good mother.

Bent on bringing it up? I made ONE thread on the subject. I really don't understand why this is a problem or why you are bent on surpressing the topic.
I'm just messing with ya Matt, take it easy.

John wouldn't be crying... he's been invited to be on TBN/JCTV a couple of times in the past year or so.

I think everyone forgets that John had the farewell tour reunion shows (which sounds funny) up until a few months ago. I'm sure he'll enjoy the break so he can catch up on his carpentry hobbies. But I won't be surprised if he is at the filming tonight just hanging out.
