Update on GXV and lip-syncing...

The Admin on the classicpetra blog posted this comment referencing the lip-syncing issue:

Greg has just been singing non-stop for 4 days (apx 25 hours). We didn’t want to ruin his voice, so we set up the tracks for him to fall back on, if needed. He seldom used the tracks though, and most of it was, in fact, live. Greg will sing live at all upcoming shows, and his live vocals will be on the DVD. Greg will go back and sing on any places where he chose to resort to tracks during the TBN shoot .

Anyone take that as a hopeful sign? Or am I being too optimistic?

Shoot. At least he sang. Some people (cough....Britney Spears) don't sing at all, because the SUCK and are not serious artists at all. Greg is the real deal. We all know from the past he can still sing. I know he can sing. I am not worried. This TV deal was not a concert. It was a TV show taping...a very different thing in form, function, time and money.

Wonder why he's singing "non-stop?" Practicing? Or...?

I was wondering why he is singing so much too. Our voices don't last forever, just like the rest of our body we need to rest the voice. 25 hours is a lot of singing!

It was during rehearsals that week, apparently he over did it.
One thing I remember John always did was sing no matter what, even if he was sick, had a bad sound guy, or had several shows in a row. For good or bad, I admire that of John Schlitt's heart.
