Sorry, but they did. They are very individual songs. All the more reason to get the DVD imo. Even with the fades, it is still great.

michael told me to email him with our concerns so he could tell the producers of the dvd. I told him I did not like the fade out at the end of too big to fail I wanted to have a full crowd concert noise at the end. I was the taping and the end of too big to fail is way different, you can see it on youtube.

al louie whent off on the drums incredibly good he hid it a lot of double pedal on second wind

Tell him they need to give us the whole show for the DVD. Don't cut crowd noise or introductions between songs on any of it.

The sale of MP3 Downloads is currently available only to US customers located in the United States.

The same issue with ITunes....

I'm just going to wait for the physical CD to be released. Compared to the BTTR CD I was disappointed in the quality of the last downloads.

MP3s have 50% distortion and the codec removes similar stereo frequencies, no matter how they are panned, throws one away, and then splits the one signal into two when decoded. MP3s are crap.

What codec? A wav audio file converted with latest LAME to 320kbit is quite good. NOT 50% quality loss at all.
And mp3 files are NOT crap. I have quite good stereo equipment, and I can hardly hear the difference between lossy 320kbit and lossless wave or flac. It depends on the source file and what kind of music you encode though.
The latest mp3 album I bought was PDC-Mechanism album encoded with only 192kbit. I have enjoyed it very much, even at low bitrate. 8)

Most people can't hear any difference between 320kbps mp3 and lossless formats. Some people can hear a difference when really comparing, but can't tell which is which or which they prefer. Some people really can tell which is which - but if they only had one of them and nothing to compare with, there would be no way of knowing if it was wav/flac or 320kbps mp3 using just your ears. Well, they could guess, and be right 50% of the time...

Putting aside all the scientific mumbo jumbo and putting it in layman terms; usually the differences I hear between a MP3 and CD are the MP3 seems to sound very thin and the bass and drums are very tinty. Unlike the CD versions I feel no life in the music. I can feel and hear a huge difference.

That is not what I hear. (Talking about 320kbps here). I hear subtle boosted low and high frequencies and some kind of analog processing feeling on mp3s. Some songs could actually benefit from it. Lossless formats (CD/Wav/Flac) sounds more smooth and has more undistorted detailed high frequencies.

I bought the download from Amazon yesterday and after giving it a listen, I have to say...I LOVE IT!!! IMO, this is by far the best sounding live album Petra (ok, Classic Petra) has put out. Sonically, I thought Farewell had it all over CITAS...well, in a song by song listen/ comparison, this has it all over Farewell. It actually captures the feeling of being there in a live concert setting. Bob's guitars are just nasty...and I mean that in the best way possible. Greg's voice sounds great and is definitely live. Honestly, I didn't know that Greg could sound so rockin'...it's like the best sonics of John-era Petra with Greg's voice (and dude, how amazing is it that a guy his age can still sing this stuff, half-step down or no!!) And as a person who attended the concert...this does a great job of capturing the vibe.

Really the only negative I have has already been mentioned...the whole fade between songs sucks and breaks the continuity of the live feel. I don't understand why they chose to go that route as it doesn't add anything and definitely takes away. I wish there were more of the crowd noise in there as there were some pretty cool things going on in the audience during the show that would have been nice to hear on tape. Other than that...I am thrilled with it! I highly recommend to anyone and everyone who wants to hear what Classic Petra sounds like in concert!

Just listened. They played to tracks and then overlaid live tracks. I will still probably get the the DVD even though the good stuff is cut out. Interaction, stories, personalities, that is what people want to see live and on DVD. They can buy perfect music anytime.

That's how I feel about it Brent. It sounds too perfect for a Live Record. Sometimes I feel like I am hearing the Studio Record. Are you saying they did not record anything live that night, then Recorded "Live" again in the Studio to match it to the video footage later?

I asked Michael to please make the Physical CD with all the song intros, and testimony I heard at the taping, as well as to let the last song TBTF finish like in the concert, with all the Fanfare and encore, with the CD fading into applause and crowd noise.

He said he would talk to the producer, but that the DVD will for sure have everything in it form that night.

I hate to chime in before listening to the live cd but man, why would anyone fade out on a live song. Fade outs are like cop outs for me, write an ending or the song isn't finished. With the live cd I would have liked to hear real endings. Also, how many "live" cd's are exact replicas of the studio CD? I guess this should be expected since all they did at the concert was play the CD. Oh well, I'll still buy it but it doesn't seem like a real live cd anymore.

One more thing- It is available on emusic but listed under Classic Petra. It costs $5.39. The BTTR album is listed under Petra.
