If you like Petra's "dream team" sound... You should check John & Dino Elefante's group "Mastedon" out. (Kerry Livgren also appears on one album).
Well... Do you recognize the sound?

Just discovered Mastedon a few weeks ago! I've been enjoying their latest release from last year, I believe.

Re: John & Dino Elefante's group "Mastedon"
how many albums did Mastedon (not to be confused with Mastodon...a completely different band) put out? All I've heard are "It's a Jungle Out There!" and "LOFCAudio." Both of which are quite good. I do wish John Elefante's solo work hadn't been quite so poppy (although "Pass the Flame" is a great song.)

Three if you include John's latest "Revolution of Mind" which is listed as "John Elefante and Mastedon".neonpachyderm wrote:how many albums did Mastedon (not to be confused with Mastodon...a completely different band) put out? Odd bit of trivia, I actually owned "It's a Jungle Out There" on CD before any of the Petra CD's (but I had everything through Beyond Belief on cassette). I think it was a gift about the same time that my first CD player was given to me.

I do not know if it is available as a CD. John's website has a digital download of the album. This link should get you there.

So how do their first two releases compare to Revolution of Mind? If they're as good I'll definitely need to check them out!

They definitely have a more dated sound (of course), but I don't know which of the three I like the most.Muleya wrote:So how do their first two releases compare to Revolution of Mind? If they're as good I'll definitely need to check them out!

I think "It's a Jungle Out There is the best out of the three.
