Unfortunately, no. He didn't respond to his invite, but I was still kinda holdin my breath that he might show up. The guy is a heck of a guitarist\songwriter - and was very instrumental to Head East's success.. I don't think he gets out much these days though.

Which vid you talkin bout Willis? Did you get the raw footage or you mean vid you took? Also, who u waitin to get permission from? John\Head East or the Hall of Fame? If the latter I've seen amature video from previous years on youtube, but I don't know if they waited till after the Hall of Fame released their pro video for sale or what..

Was a great time! John sounded great, was great to meet all the Schlitt,Pet,Head,Heads.
If anyone hasn't met Sue before she is this tiny little woman with a big heart.

My video came out good, and the audio is ok so I will upload it at some point.. the proshot would be the one to watch!

I am still deaf from the thing.. and crazy tired.

The audience went crazy indeed!

Earlier in the night I was a little curious why everyone in the crowd was sitting down - even though there were some great bands. I was told that standing wasn't really allowed, but when John stepped out on the stage as the band kicked off "Get Up and Enjoy Yourself" verrry few in the audience stayed seated and the majority were standing, clapping, singing, and dancing from that moment till the end of the encore!

What a great time! It was great to see the Schlittheads again - and Daniel, it was very nice meeting you!
Likewise, was just a night to remember.

Indeed!

I'm excited to see your vid! I'm curious if the hall of fame will include Head East's entire set on the DVD - the whole event last 7 hours so I imagine it will be condensed considerably. My cam stopped working before John made it out on stage... bummer!

The one Warren and I took.

John AND the Hall AND the Head East gang... they may not be too happy with me if I were to just to post vids without at least asking.

Aw, Daniel - what a sweet thing to say! I'm not really TINY, though! lol! You have to be given the CRAZIEST SCHLITTHEAD AWARD for your trip up to Iowa from Phoenix one day - and back the next day! Talk about an intense 24-hour period! It was great meeting you!

Awww, King Schlitt. The new King of Rock'N'Roll? Anyway, brilliant title Sue ;)

"Pethead" is not a title. It's a way of life.

Hi everybody! Had to check the chatter on the zone for this event. It's been a looooooong time since I posted here. There is just never enough time. I've been having a running dialog with John for years about just such an event as this. I've ridden the roller coaster from casual interest if the right event came along, to no way, to the wonderful excitement at the HOF induction. I think John was on that roller coaster, as well. I have to say that I felt tremendously flattered and honored in a way when John told me that when he was asked about this opportunity, the first person he thought about was little ol' me!! It was really fun to see the current guys and the original guys getting along so famously. And they put on a great show!! You may have noticed Darren in the 'Schlitt happens' T-shirt that Sue has made famous. Sue took more convincing than Darren to make that happen, and I think John got a real kick out of it. I daresay that Darren knows he is no John Schlitt, and he treated John with great respect - as did all of Head East; the band, old and new roadies, and the East Heads in attendance. It truly was a once in a lifetime event (well post April, 1980, anyway), and there was no way I was going to miss it! I felt like I was phasing in and out of the space time continuum all weekend, and the proof is that Sue, Sherrie, and I all had trouble getting pictures that were actually in focus throughout the night. We did get a few good shots, though. Sue has posted some here, and I will get some to Drew for the Head East web page (head-east.com). Looking forward to seeing the video, as well. Tom
