Good to see you back, Tom!

Naw, I didn't need much convincing. I just didn't know how I was gonna take off my shirt when I didn't have another one to replace it with! lol!
Back in the day I imagine that wouldn't much matter! :P

That's cool that John thought of little ol' you!

I totally agree about the space time continuum.... both with the blurry photos (I took tons more that are not gonna see the light of day), and the trippin' back to the HE past. It was a great time indeed!

Gotta hand it to Darren for how cool and excited he was to share the stage with the original lead singer. He really seemed to make it about John, at least that's what I got from the pics and video I've seen. It made me happy to see how highly they all thought of John. Very cool indeed!

Absolutely! All the guys in Head East were sooo glad John was there and the new guys were just blown away by him. I talked to current drummer Eddy Jones after the show and he was talkin about how loud John's vocal was back in the drum moniter and was just goin on and on about how awesome his voice is. The other guys in the band made similar comments and just couldnt believe how humble he was. But Darren def has huge respect for John and looks up to him as a performer - there was not a hint of competition between any of the guys in the slightest.. it was just pure fun - and that was great to see.

I love on the youtube vid of "Get Up and Enjoy Yourself" at about 1:28 you see original drummer Steve Huston finally realize what Darren's shirt says and he gets a good laugh out of it! One moment that I'm hoping someone caught on film was during "Never Been Any Reason" - While Roger plays the second synth solo he does this Chuck Berry duck walk across the stage and when John saw him coming he kinda did this ' better run for cover' look as he moved backwards. It was lighthearted, but still just funny given their history!

A few more shots from the weekend have been added at https://picasaweb.google.com/1122831374 ... oldsPark02# . These were the shots I sent to Head East webmaster Drew Willis, which had a mishmash of shots from me and Sue. You may well have seen some of these from Sue's post. Enjoy.

All the comments I've been hearing are true reflections of the sentiment of the weekend. It was a celebration of Head East. And it's clear that Head East would not have been the Head East we all know without the original guys, and John was a huge part of that, of course. The new members pay homage to that every time they perform, even as they put their own spin on things with their own material. This weekend, they got to express that directly to John and Steve Huston.

BTW, for those of you who may be interested, Mike Somerville did send a note to Drew at head-east.com, expressing his gratitude to IRRMA for the induction, and acknowledging John and Steve and their contributions to Head East, as well as thoughts of the deceased members of the band - Dan Birney (original member) and Kurt Hanson.

Lovin' the videos! They turned out better than I would have expected. Kudos to the film crew!! 8)

Everyone got along so well that night, Darren was so excited to have shared the stage with John. After seeing how John was such an amazing example to the band, I wouldn't object to another reunion show.
