The fact that you started perhaps the most vile post in the history of this message board with this statement is truly, astoundingly ironic.

Edit: OK, that's clearly hyperbolic; I have no way of knowing what other posts have been made in the years between my stints here. Nevertheless, I feel like I have to constantly remind people that Barack Obama is a Christian with a conversion story likely similar to many of ours (altar call in church, coming down the aisle, turning his life over to Christ). Jesus says we should love our enemies. Shouldn't we at least show a modicum of respect to our brothers and sisters in Christ?
Enlighten us, Oh Cat. How, exactly, was any of this vile? Surely you don't deny that everything I said was true do you? That can't be it.

Perhaps you object to the fact that I was implying that Obama doesn't have what it takes to be "greatly and effectively wicked"? Well, I can see why that might bother you. But I gotta call 'em like I see 'em. I don't think Obama has that little spark of virtue necessary to be greatly and effectively wicked. It just ain't there.

I'm sorry, but I honestly don't think he does. I don't think he has any spark of the patriotism or faith in his fellow countrymen that allowed Hitler to be spectacularly evil and wicked.

I don't think he has the physical courage that allows today's gang leaders to be paragons of wickedness.

I don't think he is very calculating, or patient, or persistent like Antiochus Epiphanes who serves as a type and shadow of the Anti-Christ.

No, poor Obama has none of that.

I am not attacking the man when I say that. Honestly, I don't hate him. In fact, lately, when I see him on TV my primary emotion, seriously, is ... pity. I mean, here is a guy clearly in over his head having his strings pulled by terrorists like Ayers and would-be despots like Sorros.

I don't see how saying any of that would qualify as "vile" or an "attack" on the man. I certainly don't see how it precludes loving him as Christ commanded. The TRUTH does not stand in the way of love.

As far as his supposedly being a Christian ... I'm sorry, but the fruits just aren't there. If he really did become Born Again at some point, as he admittedly claims, he has not led a life that has fed him spiritually and helped him to mature in Christ. If he really did become born again at some point, I think he has become like the seed that fell among the thorns ... the cares of the world have grown up and chocked out the seed that was once planted.

A song by a truly great band outlines my fears for Obama quite well.
Somewhere in the darkest night a stranger has lost the way
Cold wind and a distant light has carried his heart away
Some say he was one of us, a prodigal gone astray
But inside he's as cold as ice to the truth that he won't obey
He won't discern - the point of no return

(Chorus)
In the last daze - the final haze
There was strong delusion to believe a lie
In the last daze before the blaze
They couldn't see beyond their misty trance
To grab the truth and have a fighting chance
In the last daze

Cold chills when the Spirit speaks that some shall depart from the faith
All ends in calamity just when they thought it was safe
They followed the lies - the fables men devised

Some say it's a certainty, a sign of the times I am told
But I weep for the souls of those who will never return to the fold
But you are right. If Obama really was saved at some point, then today he needs our prayers more than ever.

I will agree with you on that. If he really was saved, we need to pray for him twice as hard ... we need to get down on our knees and fast and pray that, against all odds, God will rescue our lost brother.

Thank you for reminding us of that.

True - it was not vile at all. In the beginning (during campaign, election and for awhile after) I was actually scared of him and thought maybe he did "have what it takes to be greatly and effectively wicked." But thank God he doesn't. I also agree with this: "If he really did become born again at some point, I think he has become like the seed that fell among the thorns ... the cares of the world have grown up and chocked out the seed that was once planted." Great observation, and I do pray for him and the others, but I will admit I have prayed for them more out of a fear for our country than just for personal concern for them.
