Serious I hadn't heard this song... I have listen to this album of Greg X, I love the song " I come out fighting"

After reviewing both it sound familiar, but Greg X's version is best hands down... Steve Tyler is an old saddle bag.

I was learning to walk when this song came out.

This is the first time I've heard the original. I've heard Greg's version probably hundreds of times. The original sounds very... old... while Greg's version sounds very... 80's... Well, I like Greg's version better, but as I said, I've only heard the original once.

Btw, I like Petra's God Gave Rock'n roll better than Argent's original too. Both the Beat the system version and the Come and Join us version. And of those two, I like the Beat the system version the best.

Actually, now taking the time to re-listen the two side by side, I'm even more impressed with Greg than I was just going off my memory. He sang circles around Tyler.

Yeah I'm glad Greg hit all the right notes because that's all he has, but the feel and vibe of that song is totally gone. The Aerosmith version is classic 70's at its best and Greg's version totally stinks with the keys taking place of one of the most known gutiar riffs of all time and I won't even start with those horrendous programable drum packages that actually don't even hold the beat.
I will say I'm not an Aerosmith fan, but I have respect for something done with the Passion that that song has, not some rehashed version. I also am one not for an artist remaking songs; Petra should have never done GGRARTY just like Rez should have never done The Who or Jefferson.

So... executioner's least favorite GXV song is Dream On. Noted. That doesn't have anything to do with the topic of this thread though. Rather the opposite.

Actually its not my least favorite, but like you said its not about the least but the best. I gave my list early in this thread.

Thank you for all your responses.

I am really enjoying the God Only Knows CD. It is really strong from start to finish. Just love it. I can tell it's one that I'm going to enjoy for a long time.

Plus I did download many of the songs you all listed.

His stuff from the 80's sounds like it's, well, from the 80's. A little bit dated. But I really liked the songs mentioned from The River Is Rising.

God bless you all this Sunday.
