The only reason I can think of is audio quality. When you pack in too many tracks on vinyl, it gets worse. It seems to have been on the cassette (saw it on that ebay link someone posted).

This song Gethsemane was missing from the "No room in the middle" LP as well:

(It says Frontline but it isn't)

There are even three CD issues. The original Japanese pressed digipak and then after that the US pressed Myrrh Records jewel case release. And a couple of years ago Greg produced a reissue himself on Match Made In Heaven Music. Don't have that one, but I saw it for sale once. And I believe that if you order the CD directly from gregxvolz.com you will get this version.

I always assumed that they omitted the song from the vinyl release to promote the CD. It was included on the cassette release, so I'm not sure if that supports my theory or not.

I have two vinyl issues of The River Is Rising. One is the UK Myrrh Records pressing, which omits the song, the other is the US Myrrh Records pressing, which as far as I know also omits the song. And then there is a third vinyl release on A&M Records which I don't have, but which might have this song. Are you 100% sure, Brent?

I guess they left off Gethsemane because it was too long for the UK vinyl release. This hasn't been released on vinyl in the US. All the other formats (cassette, CD - US & UK) have the song.

That song charted on US radio back then too. The River Is Rising on the charts longer than anything Petra had done at that point, other than The Coloring Song.

I don't doubt that Brent, I have been listening to the album on that site that Boray linked to, this is an amazing album very groovy.. I think he shows off his range really well.

You mean what I paid for it or what I could get for it if I'd sell? The first would probably be much higher than the second. No way I can get $100 for my CITAS VHS now... And since Petra retired the market for Petra promos have sort of plummeted. I remember when there were four or five of us frantically outbidding each other. Now I can just get what I want for low prices, just by keeping an eye out all the time. So nowadays I pay more for shipping than for the actual items.

Full list of what I have is here: http://www.petrafiles.com/petraspective/collection.html

Pieter if you have to pay all that postage and you don't need the items asap, send them to my house I can send them when they are worth sending.

I already adopted that strategy, Daniel. Thanks for the offer! I'm sending my records and stuff from sellers that won't ship international (and there's quite a lot of them :x ) to Sue's place and she's sending them to me once in a while.
