Well its not that bad, yes Greg sings very little live and I know of J Lawry's sound are also studio based. I really don't understand why they made this album right after BTTR. I personally felt that it was a waste of time; they should have put out another classic album instead.

Re: Back To The Rock LIVE CD
The audio for this one was released in April, 2011 as a digital download. Finally in February 2012 they released the same audio on physical CD. So it doesn't have new music, just the first time it's been released on CD. And basically, it's the audio from the DVD. Nothing more, but a lot less...Raccoon wrote:but this came out last year? is this the same cd?

Re: Back To The Rock LIVE CD
Ok, I finally bought this and I have to say, these are obviously not the studio tracks. They may have made some use of that at the show, but even a casual listen of this makes it very clear that these are not the same tracks on the studio album. The tempos are different, the mix is different, Bob's guitar is different, Greg's vocals are different, so those who are claiming that they just used studio tracks and there is nothing or very little of this that is actually live, I say baloney.

Re: Back To The Rock LIVE CD
Even cooler is the announcement today that BTTR Live download is on sale at the official Petra page($5.99). They say if you already purchased it they will be sending out something special in an upcoming email- I can't wait to find out what it is. I purchased mine through emusic so the special email won't be sent to me, but then again I only paid @$5.99 in the first place.
BTTR Live is the same songs as BTTR but they do sound a little different and it is well worth picking up for any Petra fan.

If I'm not mistaken you actually get both the download and the CD for that price. That's why I snatched it up.

Re: Back To The Rock LIVE CD
I haven't heard it. I probably will not buy it.
The DVD is basically the studio tracks with some recorded tracks mixed in. They DID play over live tracks at the show. We were forewarned of this by management before the "concert" taping in TN.
If the CD tracks are different, the differences are the work of the editors and mixers bringing out other parts, and using time compression to change tempos, not the result of a different performance per se. They could not have played at a different tempo than what they played on camera. I am glad there are differences. It gives people are reason to buy it. Just releasing the DVD audio tracks on CD seemed silly to me, since the DVD was obviously not completely live.
