Faith and Freedom
Re: Faith and Freedom
He doesn't support everything they do. I would support the Catholic church in some matters as well (abortion, etc). Billy is not a Catholic and has not aligned himself with all of the doctrines of the church. Unlike the Catholic church, he says that Jesus is the only Way. His stance on salvation is very clear. If you do not know what that is, and want to hear it in his own words, listen to PDC's song "Hell No Heaven Yes". He gives a sermonette on John 3:16 in the middle of it. The Catholic church would say it is The Church + Jesus + works = salvation. Billy does not. The stuff that he agrees with, is stuff most Christians agree with...that is what my research shows.
As far as the mason thing goes, that is a crock.
I would probably disagree with MacAuthor on many things too. In fact, I know I do. He has not been kind to CCM, and prefers the hims. Some times he picks and chooses which modern tunes he thinks are acceptable in church. He has some controversial views on salvation as well, when Billy is cut and dry. His "Lordship" position is very spooky. It adds a work by the believer to the salvation equation.

Hey Toyota,
There are groups of people that hate Catholics... one is the KKK. As Brent mentioned there are a number Catholic beliefs that he agrees with. You probably do too, if you actually were to sit down and read what their beliefs are. You are welcome to live your life as you wish, hating other Christians for differences in opinions, but you need to choose your words wisely as there are a fair number of Petra fans that do not drink your "kool-aid." Also, if you are referring to the Jamestown massacre then perhaps you should use the brand "Flavor-aid" or "Wylers" since that is what was used in lieu of the higher priced "kool-aid."

Actually, I was born and raised Catholic. I know very well what they believe.

Well, If the Pope confesses Jesus Christ, Billy is correct. Billy would have to say that any evangelical pastor would be his brother in Christ. God only knows.

Re: Faith and Freedom
If the Pope believes a false gospel which he did and if he worshipped Mary and looked to her for salvation which he did then how could one say he's a Christian. Also Graham considered Norman Vincent Peale to be his mentor and endorses Robert Schuler. Don't you think that's a problem?

You are throwing the baby out with the bath water, and nobody has everything 100% correct. They all have said some truth. I don't know the exact words he used about Schuler. Do you? Schuler says some scriptural things, just as Osteen does. But both stop short of the whole truth at times. So, I would need context. Now, since Norman Vincent Peale was hugely anti-Catholic, I would say that Billy found somethings to learn from him. We do not know what they were. Norman Vincent Peale was a good business man. Maybe it was how he teamed up with rich businessmen to do broadcasting. Norman teamed up with Penney and others. There is nothing wrong with positive thinking. It is good for you. There is wrong with confusing that with the doctrine of Christ, or using it to manipulate people.corolla1 wrote:If the Pope believes a false gospel which he did and if he worshipped Mary and looked to her for salvation which he did then how could one say he's a Christian. Again. You are pulling stuff off of the web without any context.
I know who Billy considers his pastor to be, and I have heard that man speak (even in my church) and I know his reputation and his fruit. He is not a Catholic tree hugger, nor is he a modern positive thinking guru.

When bad research gets worse:

Check out what they say about Petra. Reminds me of the witch hunt Corrola is conducting on presidents, Catholics and Billy Graham.

I am not conducting a witch hunt. Can you disprove any of the information I have discussed?

Can you prove it first? It is easy to make an accusation. Do you have quotes with references?

Re: Faith and Freedom
Brent,
I would suggest reading the book Codeword Barbelon by P.D. Stuart. It does not speak of Billy Graham, but does speak of the things I stated reagrding the Bushes, the political parties and the Catholic Church. I found my information regarding Billy Graham from dvds taught by Walter Vieth. Walter Vieth on his lectures regarding freemasonry he states that Billy Graham, Norman Vincent Peale and Robert Schuler all are/were 33 degree Masons. It is also speculated that Kenneth Copeland is as well. As mentioned before, John MacArthur has been highly critical of Billy Graham. Chris Pinto and Brannon Howse have also discussed him on their respective radio shows.

Hand picked sources? This has veered too far from the original thread. Let's get back on topic.

I have heard all of this before, but there is no proof. There are only accusations. The Masons keep membership roles to themselves. They do not make a habit of publishing that info. I do not care about the Bush's. They are filthy rich people groomed by the powers that be to be presidents. That is a spooky world IMO. Copeland...who cares? Even if he was, was that before or after he became a Christian?corolla1 wrote:Brent,

Even if Billy was a Mason, he has spent his whole life preaching the Gospel, living a transparent life, with a ministry free of moral, sexual and financial scandals. A satanic apostate would not dedicate his whole life, sacrificing time away from his family, etc to bring people to Jesus Christ. His children have engaged ministry, carrying out their calling for Jesus Christ. If Billy is a mason, he is a terrible one.
That said, you can't go around barfing mis-information. Just because info is in a book, given at a lecture, etc, doesn't make it so.

Fine don't vote, but don't complain about it then. The best way to get your feelings, thoughts, and views heard is to vote.corolla1 wrote:I have known for nearly 25 yrs that we are heading toward world gov't and I am quite informed about Bible Prophecy. Both parties are controlled by the globalist elites so a vote for either party is a vote for them. For the first time in my adult life, I'm not voting. I will not drink the Republican Kool-Aid anymore regardless of what the so-called Christian leaders tell us.
