Haha! It was a pro tv production with several cameras and good audio.

I think he said on the show that he hadn't been singing it before, but I might be wrong.

I think the PP1 Tour; they did it in a medley with Onward Christian Soldiers & The Battle Belongs to the Lord. The medley seem to be more for Onward & Battle Belongs because How Great seemed really short if I remember correctly.

I think trodland was actually there and wasn't sitting behind his computer for this one, so recording from the computer would be kind of difficult. On the other hand, he probably set up the cameras that were used for the webcast, so I'm sure he's recorded everything.
I had nothing to do with the webcast from Norway.

I don't use to write much about concerts, since I am not that good in English.
I am from Norway, you see.
But I want to try to write some lines about the Petra-gig in Norway July 14.

This concert was one of the best Petra-gigs I have been to. Johns voice was very good,
and especially Bob looked like he had his best time ever, constantly smiling and
really get into it. His guitar-sound was awesome, and it was nice to hear his guitar
so clearly. Bob is a genius on his guitar!
I don't miss a keyboard a second. Bob's guitar is what I want to hear.

John looked like a fish in the right pool, singing like the rock legend he is.
He was rocking the stage, and made a very good connections to the audience.

I talked to many after the concert, and everyone was VERY happy it was Petra Farewell lineup that
rocked this night. There was a lot of young people, and they said that Farewell Petra really rocks!

After the show there was only Classic Petra CD's and DVD's for sale.
And it was a bit weird to see Farewell Petra signing on the Classic Petra CD's/DVD's.
Many asked after the other Petra CD's, but they were not available.

But I guess it's not the first time John Schlitt signs a CD's that Greg X Volz are on.

Petra did the song "How Great Thou Art", which was nice to hear. They did a good version of this song.
I haven't heard Petra do this one in a long time.

The setlist was a bit different from the Farewell tour, but still similar in many ways.
The same opening song, the same rock medley and many of the same songs.

Cristian Borneo did a nice job on drums, - that guy is really good! During a song, one of the cymbals
fell over and almost hit Bailey - I have that on video ! Luckily no-one get hurt.

The stage wall had a cool LED-background with giant pixels, and the promoter ran a lot of effects during the concert.
That looked nice..
The sound was very good, and all Petra-members was easy to hear. But Cristian Borneo was a bit difficult to see
because of all the smoke.

After the concert there was a lot of people at the signing table,
and I had to wait an hour before I got to speak with John.
They really sold a lot of Classic Petra CD's that night.

I will post videos from this concert on friday, I guess.

I will also be back with more info about the concert in Mariager, - tonight.

Awesome review. Thanks for posting. Good to hear. Sad about the CDs. I bet since there was a buy in for the Classic Petra concert, the CDs were purchased and/or shipped before anyone knew there would be a change. Please tell me you recorded How Great Thou Art....:)

Good review your English was great; you should write more often.
I'm glad you all had a great time; I'm like you and I went to the CP Plano, Tx show in April to hear Bob's work, but for the most part all I got was a huge wall of keyboards & drums, Bob's sound didn't come completely through. After the show I got to talk to Bob a bit and told him on how I loved his work on JAH and his comment was thats the most fun he has ever had in making an album and he really hopes to get back to that sound in the future. Well anyways I'm glad everyone had a great time.

If Bob wants to get back to that sound, which I hope comes quickly, it will have to be with John and another drummer. Louie is more of a pop/rock drummer and Greg's voice would not fit. Now, John L could play some organic yet distorted B3 with Bob and that would be most excellent, dude.

I'm thinking the same, Louie & Greg would not be able to pull it off(nothing against them, just not their style). I could see in the future Bob playing both sides of the field style wise and using everyone thats currently involved in CP & Farewell. The thing in Brazil this fall is really going to be huge because all the principle members of both will be there performing and could be the future of Petra.

I thought the September thing in Brazil was only with the Farewell line-up. They wanted to have this in June with both Classic and Farewell, but I think finances were tough and now it's been moved to September with only Farewell.

Great review, Terje! Glad you had the chance to see them.

You might be right after looking at the promo page. It's a shame because it was suppose to be huge!!

The concert in Sweden was very similar to the show in Norway (I have to agree with you, Trodland). The main difference was that it was a smaller audience. I can imagine that there were around 800 people there. It was a pretty intimate concert. Actually, one of the best I've seen with Petra!

I'm sorry, but the video quality is really low. Crappy sound.

Trodland, you write better English than a lot of Americans I know! Thanks for a great review - and great photos! You too, Rickard; even if the sound isn't the greatest, it's still fun to watch.

Actually, no. The promoter purchased the CDs himself, and they were shipped shortly before the guys left. Not sure why he bought CP when he was having Petra.

Great concert in Denmark as well! Dont want to write a lot, but I especially liked the rock medley. So many great songs from a long history of great music put together into a few minutes! Legendary in the words literally meaning! And as it has been written: Bob hartman looked like a man really enjoying playing!

Thanks for the feedback on my last review from norway, July 14.

I will try to write some lines about the show in Mariager, Denmark, too.

Right after the concert in Norway, I went to Denmark to see the show there.
For me it's just 4 hours of traveling from Norway to Mariager.

But for Petra, it must have been a long travel.
First they went to the east-coast of Sweden, travelling with just boat and cars.
After the show in Sweden, they went to Denmark, and had to drive for many hours to get to Mariager.
I assume they spent up to 20 hours in cars, and 3 or 4 hours at ferries after the show in Norway.

I talked to John before the gig in Denmark, and he confirmed it was a long travel,
but he said that if was definitely worth it! The band doesn't looked tired at all!
And that's amazing! And they did a 90 minutes show that night.

The concert was held at the "SummerCamp Festival",
and the most people there are youth between 18 and 20 I would guess.

But there were also many others that had come for just the concert,
and I saw older people too. I would guess there were around 1000 people at the concert.

The band played almost the same setlist as in Norway, but they did two extra numbers at the end, the audience get them in a second time to do a last song.

I really loved the song "I Love The Lord" from Petra Praise 1. That one really rocked!
They also did an even better version of "How Great Thou Art" this night.

Like the show in Norway, the band seemed to have a very good time on stage,
and John had an incredible contact with the young audience. I heard some teenagers said they hadn't heard
Petra before, and they said they would by CD's after the show.
I heard they were talking about how cool the song "Jekyll & Hyde" was.

Johns voice was rock solid through the whole gig, and I think he's singing better than ever.
He has an incrdible powerful rock voice, and are really pushing it on stage.

Bob and John are having so fun together on stage, and Greg Bailey is smiling a lot and has a good background voice!
Cristian Borneo did a great job on drums, and I told him after the show that I think we is a very good drummer!

Petra said they would love to come back one day to play more in Denmark!

At the merchandise table, I saw just a few Classic Petra CD's sold. Most people were asking about those other Petra CD's with John,
and many was looking after Beyond Belief and Jekyll & Hyde albums.
I saw people get autographs on papers, flyers, LP's and other objects that they had brought with them by themselves.
A girl had taken with her a lot of CD's sleeves from Petra CD's.

The fans seemed quite confused to only find CP stuff.
There was only "Back To The Rock" on CD, and "Back to The Rock-DVD" to be sold.
I also saw a few CD's of the latest "Best of the 80's" compilation.

I taped the whole show in Full HD video, and took a lot of photos. I will post videos and photos soon.

It's so nice I get to see Farewell Petra again, two times, this summer! I hope I will see them back soon!

Anyway, Now I am looking forward to John Schlitt Live in Norway July 28!

I'll be there!
