I got 12:01, though through no actions of my own. Like MexicanSpud, I have work early the next morning (but only at 8 am). It better be worth it ;) .

Anakin fulfilled the prophecy and is the chosen one...

Post by Historymaker » Thu May 19, 2005 10:41 am

... how could Anakin bring "balance to the force" by wiping out every Jedi except two (that we know of)? Through his CHILDREN.
You're overcomplicating things. Anakin / Vader brought balance to the Force when he ofted Emperor Palpatine. Simple as that.

Here's a great site where you can here info and truths such as this straight from the horse's (a horse named George Lucas) mouth or the mouth of one of his best friends. In fact, it was at this site that he was quoted as saying that he prays constantly for all the fans who take Star Wars too seriously, and hopes they will put their faith in 'Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ'.

PS... Saw Revenge of the Sith VERY early this morning. Though a VERY dark film, it is the perfect bridge from Episodes 1 and 2 to episodes 4-6.

Now, how in the heck does that bring "balance?" When one side defeats the other? The unbalance was the GOOD force (Jedi) complacent that the BAD force (Sith) was growing in power under their noses. In the SW universe, like in duct tape, there has to be a dark side and a light side, and they have to be the same. :) In the REAL universe, of course, God is infinitely more power than anything Satanic, but in SW it's not that way.

Vader killing Palpy did not balance the force. Both the Sith and Jedi sides having to start from scratch at the same time, did. That George guy doesn't know what he's talking about. ;)

George Lucas wrote:The dark side is more powerful. This is what makes Sidious rise to power possible. The Force is out of balance because the Jedi have become aloof and arrogant. A change needs to be made.

Actually, it IS that way in Star Wars... it is said in either Episode I or II that the 'chosen one' will 'destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force' (I THINK its Mace Windu who says it... ). If destroying the Sith would bring balance to the Force, than it simply cannot be the yin and yang duct tape analogy that you used.

I believe for SW purposes as well, 'balance' is when you can sit around in the Jedi Temple and think about the Force while not having to do any real work and not having to worry about the Sith showing up AT ALL. Vader killing Palpy fulfilled prophecy and brought balance to the Force. Sorry. The End.

Clouded your mind has become...

Sorry guys, but that website has debunked on several occaisions. I don't have any links to send you to, but trust me; as much as I wish some of the stuff on that site were true, it's mostly lies with a couple of factoids to make it seem real. \

No Episodes 7-12! Not gonna happen.

Chalk it up as StarWars Urban Legends... They make good stories, but they aren't really true.

supershadow.com is not debunked. How can an actual interview with him be debunked. Doesn't really matter anyway, nothing is concrete.

Anyway the movie was great. Everyone must go see it this weekend, if there might be a slight chance for 7-9.

Well, Like this. You've by now read everything about Petra retiring. If someone started a website that stated they had interviewed Bob and John and everything said conflicted with the things we know they said, wouldn't you think it was wrong.

The question is asked all the time if there is going to be a 7-9. George always, yes always answers an emphatic, "No, it's done." So George is not leaking secret information though a friend and answering the rest of the world with lies.

All of the fans would love to have more movies, but it isn't gonna happen. George has stated that he writes what he wants. He does not glean information from the fans and use it in the movies. Sure, some ideas might match up because it's such a big universe full of possibilities, but those are just bound to happen.

Read official information, or at least go to theforce.net. They at least report real Starwars news. Just one fan trying to help out. I too got pulled in by some of that stuff when I first got on the internet years ago. It just isn't true guys. :([/quote]

Ok, let me give you an example from one of those supposed interviews and questions.
Mr. Lucas, is it true you were not satisfied with the other directors work in the classic trilogy? If you had directed Episode 5 and 6 yourself, what changes would you have made to the original work?

George Lucas: Its true that Im unhappy with the directorial efforts of Irvin Kershner and Richard Marquand (God rest his soul). Kersh was terrible at staying on budget. He nearly broke me with his inability to keep on schedule. He would shoot scenes over and over again for no real reason. The fiftieth take was no better than the first one so I didnt see the point at needlessly spending so much money on additional takes.

Richard did the best he could, but I dont believe Return of the Jedi measures up to the genius of A New Hope. Richards handle on the acting is stale. He doesnt know how to bring the best out of the actors like I do. Im really an actors director. That is why Alec Guinness was nominated for an acting Oscar for A New Hope.

I cant specifically tell you how the old sequels would have been different if I had directed them, but I really do wish I could go back in time and direct the sequels myself. I really did a disservice to the fans by opting to allow others to direct Star Wars. I just hope the fans can forgive me.
That's what i'm talking about. The website is being sarcastic. The fans have been very vocal about the fact that Besides A new Hope George has not directed the prequesl very well. It is a well known fact that has been expressed by the actors in Star Wars that George doesn't direct his actors. He doesn't give them much at all to go on. And George Lucas would never ever try to take credit for Sir Alec Guiness' nomination.

How about this quote. If you can't see the sarcasm from the website about this...

George Lucas: I give the changes I make to the old films a lot of thought. Shadow has never liked the Ewok Celebration song. He says it is quite lame. Shadow only gives his opinion when it can really make a difference. I thought Shadow had a point so I asked Johnny to create something new for the end of Return of the Jedi. Shadow loves the new music and so do most fans. Chalk up another brilliant idea by Shadow.

The Phantom Menace was a gamble. I was using a new set of characters. If I had been making films about Luke, Leia and Han, I would have felt more comfortable. But when you are starting with new characters and actors, you never know what the fans are going to think. The Phantom Menace was a monstrous box-office success. It is the most successful of the Star Wars films and for good reasons. The Phantom Menace has Jar Jar Binks. Nothing else needs to be said.

We're supposed to believe that George changes all this stuff because this "Shadow" guy doesn't like it? Sure.

To quote Star Wars...what you said depends on a "certain point of view". People lie all the time in public because they want to keep certain things somewhat private. ex. Britney Spears pregnancy, Bill Clinton relations, etc.

I just hope for more the same way I hope they release another Petra song.

IMO, there is no need for another Star Wars movie. The current movies follow a storyline of salvation and redemption, and culminates with Anakin Skywalker turning back to the light side and destroying the Sith. Making more movies would just be milking money out of the franchise and is unecessary. There isn't really a higher point that the series can go as far as the storyline is concerned. Let the books and the TV series continue the universe for the truly hardcore fans.
