How about a game? Choose your favorite song from Petra's first album. Maybe we can do it for all the albums
Didja know... that Petra's first album was recorded in 2 weeks with a budget of $1000?

I voted for "Wake Up". It's a really cool and edgy song. Close second would be "Walkin' in the Light" or ""Lucas McGraw".

I choose not to vote. Every group has to start somewhere, but to me, this album is barely listenable.

I think it's funny that Bob Hartman kept the name after they (the originals) disbanded. I also think that the "New And Improved" across the top of WWT is funny - It really was a new and improved Petra!

You'll get no argument from me about being better, but this album has a unique charm all to it's own. A very 70s sound that was popular back then.

I love the original incarnation of Petra. I'll admit some of the songs are kind of silly but overall its a good album. WWT was too mellow for my tastes. Did you guys know that the original 3 members Greg Hough, John DeGroff, and Bill Glover went on to form GHF. Volume 1 picks up from where Come And Join Us left off.

So can anyone say what the GHF albums are like? I've never actually seen one, or heard one... are they good? I saw them listed on Petraspective, and was curious if anyone actually had them, or at least heard one.

It's mostly mellow stuff, sorta similar to Petra's first albums, with lots of guitars. You can always check out their songs on YouTube.
