Now to Petra's second praise album...
Didja know... one secular critic dismissed the disc as "religious muzak" and labeled Petra "the Barry Manilow of Christian rock"
And again, since the forum only allows for 10 poll entries, the last two songs were left out.
11. Medley (Only by Grace, To Him Who Sits on the Throne, You Are Holy)
12. We Need Jesus
But if one of those is your favorite, just mention it.

Say what you want, but I really like this album, and certainly more than Petra Praise 1. It's not blow-your-mind great, but I think it's a very consistent album with lots of good songs. I think that overall, this one has a more Petra feel than the first praise album, mostly because Schlitt's voice isn't overshadowed by choirs.
If I were to pick a favorite, I don't know... I'm torn between "Song of Moses", "Lord I Lift Your Name on High", "The Holiest Name", "Ancient of Days", or "We Need Jesus". "Lovely Lord" is also another that would be close to the top for me. I'll think about it.

Compared to other records of it's time, it was boring and dated. It's a good record, but not a great Petra record.
I don't think about any of that and enjoy all of it.

I love We Need Jesus, Lord I Lift Your Name, Ancient of Days, and I Waited and it's hard not to pick one of those but I went with Show Your Power instead. They played this song at the end of the encore set on the Farewell Tour and the way they played this song and closed out those concerts was something that felt like the perfect ending. Thanks to trodland for providing the Norway Farewell show, I'll always get to cherish it followed by John's thanking of the fans and saying "See you in heaven". I can't think of a better ending to a show/tour/band.

I Love YOu Lord is one of my all time favorite songs, but Petra's version is on of my least favorites. We Need Jesus and I Waited... Are worth the price of admission or me.

Lovely Lord is one of the greatest written ballads by Bob Hartman and thus my pick. I like the feel of the album and too me sounds more like a worship album and less like a praise album. I really like the album cover also especially since the lack luster covers that Petra put out in the 90's.

Another Praise album that I now appreciate as an older guy. Don't necessarily know if that's a good thing or not...but hey - we all get there. "We Need Jesus" is my pick for this album.

My "favorite" song on this album has gotta be one of the ones I can't pick... "Medley", "We Need Jesus", and "Lord I Lift Your Name On High" are the only ones I can tolerate

I still remember when they played "Lord I Lift You Name On High" on the radio - the first Petra song I ever heard!
