I really like "Try Again", PDC. The riffs are tasty, John's singing is good, it's a great song... Tops many many Petra songs.
Also I really like the tone and sound of the guitars... They have distortion but also have lots of punch and midrange I think... Perhaps my favourite rhythm tone i have come across yet.
Do you remember what amps, settings, effects/pedals you guys used to get that tone? I guess it has been 15 years, might be hard to remember

Re: (Another) Question for Brent
The song "Surrender" from the first album is probably some of the best Schlitt vocals ever captured IMO.

Re: (Another) Question for Brent
Thanks guys.
It was a long time ago. The amps were a Marshall combo (too long ago to recall) w/an Ibanez strat by Alan and a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier + straight 4x12 cab w/a PRS by George. No pedals. Any other manipulation would have been in ProTools, but there would have been very little because there just wasn't any good guitar or distortion plugs at that time.
Thanks for asking about that train wreck. Ha.

Alan played first. George played second. George was mic’d with a SM57 and a Neumann U87i. Alan was mic’d with a U87i.
