RJ,

Why don't you send your America bashing crap somewhere where somebody cares about it.

Because when you post a response about it,

You're showing him that he's getting your attention, that you do indeed care.

Granted, posts such as this are somewhat of an annoyance to more than a few frequenting this board, quite possibly the majority. Especially when the dead horse has been beaten to a bloody pulp, cloned, beaten again, steamrolled, mutilated, well... you get the idea. Moreover, Jonathan's signature comes to mind quite readily.

At any rate, I know I'm being completely hypocritical for this post, but it needs to be said... LET IT GO, Executioner. Admittedly, he's free to hold his own opinions and can post whatever he wishes... even if it is the same tired point he's tried to make over and over again about how he doesn't approve of President Bush. Wow, what a newsflash. Given the tiresome repetition of his rhetoric, he evidently has something to prove... more than likely to himself. What that is is beyond me and likewise, his problem. His issue. Not yours. Ignore it, and you will find that our dear Canadian's posts will sink to the bottom of the message boards and into oblivion.

All you do when you respond is bump it right back up to the top, as I am doing now, but just this once in the hopes that we can all learn something and move forward. Let him be divisive, let him be an instigator, let him be condescending... and let him be all by himself.

Hope everyone's having a great week...
Ryan

This is the problem that we have here with you. You come on here and say we worship Bush. I do not worship Bush. I do not worship anyone but my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. You have said this many times before over the course of this past year. I'm sorry but I don't take lightly when someone makes assumptions like this about me. I voted for Bush because he stands up for Christian morals. You have voiced your opinion and said at one time said if you were able you would have voted for Kerry. Well lets see what you would have elected.

1. He said he would have given rights to minors to have abortions without parents consent.
2. He said abortions had nothing to do with morals, but was right in the sight of the law. Let me ask you does that make it right?
3. He would have taken more money away(higher taxes) from people that have worked for their money and given it to the welfare program. Majority of people on welfare in the U.S. has been on welfare more the 8 years, these people need to get working and earned a living like the rest of us.

These are just some of the things that you would have been voting for. Let me ask you are these things right in the sight of God?

Granted, this is one of your first "anti-American" posts that has substance, however, you have time and time again posted similar threads in an attacking, tactless tone, so don't be suprised if members of this board jump all over you for continually posting pretty much the same idea over and over. It wears on people after awhile.

RJ,

Read the first sentence in the paragraph. You bring this stuff on here alot and it is always implied or you have openly said that some of us worship Bush.

NOTE: Christianity Today is run by some liberals! That mag has been denounced by most Conservative Christians leaders.

I don't think this is something RJ wrote himself; I think it's just an article he happened to find in a magazine.

1st of all, Rod P. is a very confused man. His doctrine is jacked, and he is a bit on the fringe side of conservatism. I agree with some of what he says but not all.

2nd. Bush is a man, born into sin, working out his salvation like everyone else. While sometimes I do not understand why he makes decisions that he does, having all of the bible teachers, preachers and the Word around him, but he may/may not know information that we do not. We only see the surface of the actions of politics. We are not prevy to the secret things. Rightly so.

3rd. We, the USA are not perfect. Just as God used murders, adulterers, fornicators, theifs, simple minded, etc to do His work inspite of them, the authorities of the world were framed by him, and will operate at His whim, to bring about the desired end result, fulfilling prophecy.

4. Canada is just as screwed as the US in many ways. They embrace socialist philosophies, their medical system is a joke (I have friends whose wife was educated in the US via Canada, to work in Canada as a doctor). They just ok'd gay marraige. They have had a love/hate relationship with us, needing us more than we need them economically.

Does any of this matter? No one county on the earth is perfect. None of us can change the world. God has spoken how it will sum up. No vote will change God's plan. No war will change God's plan.

I can tell you this. With friends and family in Iraq, what you see on TV news is a lie. It makes the soldiers VERY upset that there is so much spin. There is actually a very small amount of violence compared to what there was, and it is not wide spread like it was. Iraqi people are generally greatful that the SI is gone.

We in the USA are living in the age where people do not appreciate what they have, where they came from, and what it cost someone else. This is the entitlement generation. Gimmee, gimmee and mom raise my kids while I party. We are on a highway to hell as a nation. We will likely just blend in to the poop pool that the rest of the world is forcing us into. Until then all we can do is pray, and keep on living the walk, talking the talk.

Thank you Brent you took the words right out of my mouth.

RJ,

I think we just get upset because about the only time you show your sig around here is when you have something bad to write about Bush or the U.S. or you find an article in some mag that only sees a very small percentage of the truth and blows it up like any media source would. There is a alot of hatred towards Bush through out the world because he has step on alot of toes. You know the old saying that you must be doing something right because you have more emenies then friends.

I am a Bush supporter; I voted for Bush in the election because I felt like he was the best man to lead this country. I do not agree with everything he has done, but I and nobody ever will. I am proud to have Bush as our president and I am proud to be an American.

The article's basically right, though to an extent it ignores some of the political history of Christianity. The Reformers relied on political help to stay alive, and the notion of separating church and state began basically with the United States.

Christians would do much better to remember that no power may be given except from God. God's man is always and without exception in the White House, personal politics aside. Whether he is a godly man or not is up for debate, but I think we'd do well to remember that "not many high, not many wise, not many noble" are called.

You usually manage to come up with something calm, logical and insightful Winterlens. :) That's pretty much what I think of the article. We'd probably do well to remember that anyone or anything that becomes more important to us than God is going to be a problem, no matter who or what that might be.

I haven't agreed with everything Matthew has said, but I don't think he was deliberately trying to upset anyone in this case. The best way to handle a post you might have problems with is to just not reply to it, or if you feel you have to say something to contact the person by e-mail or private message and discuss it that way.

sorry

Sorry Shell I disagree with you. The only time RJ posts is when he has found an article making the U.S. or George Bush out to look bad. He knew what would happen and those were his intentions. He deliberately tries to do this.

Well, you could be right. The point is the best way to handle that sort of thing is just not to reply to it.

Winterlens is the same over at the CMCentral boards. He's perhaps the only person I've ever met on any message board who has never let his temper flare into his discussion on a topic. I really appreciate his insight here and elsewhere.

You're usually pretty calm, Jason. I'm calm most of the time, and the few times I have lost my temper here have been because someone is saying stuff to deliberately upset people. I usually blow off steam by
e-mail if I'm upset or frustrated. :D Winterlens does probably have the calmest posts of anyone.

It is hard when you can't see or hear each other, and if you're wise, you'll learn not to take this Internet stuff too personally. :P
