Anybody getting excited about the new Stryper release? I know I am. The clips sound pretty good and you can easily tell it is Stryper.

To Hell With the Devil

Post by Susannah » Thu Jul 14, 2005 3:15 pm

I am sooooooooooooooooo excited about the new Stryper album! I got a promo copy, and it is just awesome! It should please most die-hard Stryper fans, and bring in new fans as well. I know some people over at the Stryper forum think it sounds more like a Michael Sweet solo rocord than Stryper, but to me it sounds like Stryper. It's a fresh, modern sound that also stays true to the classic Stryper sound. And lyrically, it is very powerful, and leaves no doubt as to what Stryper is all about. Anyways, I could go on and on and on, raving about it, but I'll leave you with this: I know I voted for Pedro, cuz all my wildest dreams are coming true! (Those who have seen "Napoleon Dynamite" will know what I'm talking about, and those who haven't seen it, should!) :D :D :D

I wish I could...if it wasn't for the fact that I got mine from Oz, I'd be more inclined to "hook people up". *hopes the FBI isn't lurking on this board* I know some of the folks over on the Stryper Forum have copies, although I don't know where they got theirs. Anyways, there's only one more month to go (I know, I know, it seems like a really long time!).

Hey, did you guys know that Stryper also did a cover of Michael W. Smith's "Friends"? That should be pretty cool, too.

Hehe. I remember telling Ryan he was a traitor and threatening to stone him over some of his posts when J&H came out. :D

We're in trouble if people are banned because of their taste in music folks. Give him a break, he has one small child and another on the way.

Truth be told...

Post by Historymaker » Thu Jul 14, 2005 9:38 pm

My post actually had zero to do with Stryper, and everything to do with Susannah's preceding post (a la Napoleon Dynamite).

When posts like that start going over everyone's head, I think it's time to voluntarily ban myself...

Yep...cuz girls only like guys with skills, like numchuk skills, and bowhunting skills.....

See, if everyone watched "Napoleon Dynamite", there would be no problems with miscommunication. LOL

And to make this Stryper related, Oz does a dead-on impression of Napoleon. :D

Pethead....

Post by Susannah » Fri Jul 15, 2005 6:17 pm

I met Oz about 5 years ago when I found out he was giving guitar lessons near where I live. My brother, sister and I took lessons from him for about a year, and over the years, my family has become good friends with him.

Elo, there are LOTS of people that I don't know...for instance, Michael Sweet. I've never even met the guy. Not Greg X. Volz, not Mark Kelly........the list goes on and on. But it seems to me that I once heard someone tell me, "It's all about who you know!" And the most important thing , is that I know Jesus! :D

I think the songs sound like Michael Sweet solo records as well. But, when you think about who the writing force of Stryper was, it was Michael. So logically, if Stryper was Mike, the post Stryper Mike songs sounded like weakend Stryper, which was Mike, Mike was Mike on the solo records, then Stryper has to be Mike on the new record.

A guy can only evolve. Really Stryper is in the same spot Petra was. If Stryper remained the same throughout the years and sounded the same today, people would gripe. If they change, people gripe. They have to be themselves (or in this case what Mike is) now, because now is now. Not 1986.

Everyone rock on while you still can.
