To clarify

Post by Shell » Sun Nov 09, 2003 4:28 pm

I should probably explain what I meant about Amy in case anyone misunderstands me. It's been awhile since there have been any Amy threads and some of you folks who haven't been posting that long may not have seen those.

Anyway, my point was, Amy tours and her CDs sell well, and people made posts about her awhile back saying she was about the money. And now the money issue is coming up with Petra, and they aren't touring. It's like you're danged if you do and danged if you don't. Does anyone else see the inconsistency here? And where is the balancing point where it's not about money but you're not going into debt to tour either? I do think it was a bad decision to cancel the Dallas show, but I'm assuming (without knowing all the circumstances or what went on between management and the owner of the club) that the reasoning was to try and avoid spending money they don't have, and I can understand that reasoning.

Just thought I'd throw that in. :D

More than meets the eye...

Post by CanaMat » Mon Nov 10, 2003 12:33 am

A wise man once said... ...sure, I'll take video tape protection, what's a quarter? But that's not important right now. What IS important is that we try to understand that there is most likely a lot more to these incidents than meets the eye. It's tempting to want to slam people when the only facts you know are the bad ones. If we truly believe that Petra is the ministry that we all have believed in for many years, let's not think that John and Bob don't know what they're doing. I'm sure they are NOT in the dark about ANY important issues regarding Petra. We're talking Bob Hartman here! John Schlitt! These guys are giants in the music business. They know! In talking with John I have found that it's the fans that really don't get it. Now John didn't say that, this is just what I realized. Seriously, if people are really convinced that John and Bob are allowing stupid decisions to go on, they'd better check their Petra CD collection. You don't get that much success because you're clueless. And as far as management goes... ...management doesn't hire the band, the band hires management. Therefore, at anytime, John or Bob could fire their management - but THEY KNOW what's best. They know. 'nite.

Thank-you CanaMat for the best post I've read on this board. Well said. I trust Bob and John know what they're doing and why. I'm just glad they gave us J&H.

Bob has chimed in on the Dallas situation personally:
