Ah alas, you've hit the one achilles heel of SE Saskatchewan. The winters can be EXTREMELY cold (we are talking -50-60 windchill some years). We seem to be in a bit of a cold pocket here that I like to call the revenge of Winterpeg.
But tornado alley and the badlands (where they have all the droughts) are to the west, floodplanes of Manitoba are to the east-so most of the freak weather misses us. We just have to wear multiple layers for 6 months of the year.
ETA: but we do get a lot of sunshine!!

How far north are you into Canada? Do you like hockey? I live in the Dallas area and I am a big Dallas Stars fan. I can't wait for the season to start.

My town is Southeast of Regina (which is itself in the southeast corner of SK)-maybe two or three hours from the US border.

It will be interesting to see hockey this year. Dallas is one of the more successful southern teams isn't it? I can remember when they were still the Minnesota North Stars...Back when the Jets were still in Winnipeg and we used to be able to go to games and yell at Winterpeg people. Fun times. Yes Winnipeg sucks! That's why I know the cold weather is their fault.

That, btw, is residual effect of being a Roughrider (CFL football) fan: we used to go to games and yell at each other as Winnipeg is our most hated rival and the worst team ever in the history of life. (we kicked their arses on the labour day game. YAY!)

Oh but they were cool enough to stage a Petra concert for me to go to. So on the 29th Winnipeg will rock! :D But then it will go back to sucking right away.

Haha sorry for the diatribe about Winterpeg.
