I have no problem with the use of the phrase, "Mother Nature." We're all intelligent enough to recognize that it's being used the same way it's been used for a hundred years or more: as a colloquial reference, like Father Time.

This criticism reminds me of a family at my uncle's church who tell everybody they should remove the word "luck" from their vocabulary. They believe it's a sin to call anything luck or lucky. Instead you're supposed to say "blessing" or "blessed." If you don't then you're an infidel.

I'm not saying you're like that, Outcast. I just think we should be thoughtful and circumspect about language.

Perfect World

Post by Petranut » Wed Nov 12, 2003 10:58 am

I love the song Perfect World. I think Bob did a great job of capturing the current view of the "world" and shot it down with the truth. Musically I think it is one of the hardest songs on the album and one of my favorites. The mother nature reference did catch me off guard but I understand how Bob used it and I think it fits well. :)

I`M KIDDING

Post by epdc » Wed Nov 12, 2003 12:18 pm

and yeah muahahahahaha, I`m dangerous   :D
my biggest weapon is da naked happy face so watch out LOL.

I meant that for example, Ryan started to be goofy in da comments. when he said "Bob has used the word "world" in other songs so I don`t like that". That was funny for me because at the beginning you all were serious talking about this and suddenly people start to joke. And I love to see this topics all long and realize that many of da posts is of of some that is kidding. Is cool because we talk about something and at the end we don`t get anywhere HAHAHAHAHAH that`s funny for me. I don`t like discussions :P (I have seen terrible discussions here) so when people starts to be funny I really enjoy that. Somehow that avoids the possibilitie of start fighting.

That was pretty funny; I suspect either he forgot to take his medication or having a small child was getting to him. :) Kids are a lot of fun, but they can be a handful too. My nephew has discovered he can climb on furniture and we're going stir crazy trying to keep him from falling and hurting himself. :P

Historymaker wrote:... that the song is called "Perfect World" when they already have a song called "Hey World" on Unseen Power and it bothers me that they use the word "in" in "Perfect World" because I think "in" is a really overused word and has become cliched in songwriting. And finally, I'm really disgusted that Bob didn't check with us and ask our input before writing, publishing and recording these songs... what was he thinking?!?!?

Gotcha. seasoned sarcasm.

He was kidding; he wasn't serious. You can't take all this stuff too seriously.
