I called the number off www.johnwschlitt.com's website and talked to Shara. She says that due to the overwhelming responce to this free concert, it may have to turn to an invite only situation. You will need to check inpop.com for any updates on this situation. You might want to check often.

So how would they choose? I think they should just go ahead and let it be first 500. I agree with what HistoryMaker said in the other thread, about the probable turnout. Besides, I don't think the crowd would be as good with an invitaion only crowd.

I'd be real interested to find out the criteria for the invite!

and yes, those of us who already bought tickets... this could get REAL interesting!!

This is just my own crazy idea, but I think it would make sense to be able to reserve your seat over the web. Put a form on either petraband or the inpop site and have fans claim their spots that way. I think this would have several benefits:

1) People wouldn't spend airfare, taxi, and hotel to get there only to be turned away at the door. They'd already know they have their place.

2) It would avoid lineups and hurt feelings.

3) Since news of such an offer would surely be posted here on the Zone by someone, it would make it so that the most rabid of Petheads would be guaranteed to be in attendance. What better crowd could there possibly be for this event than a crowd full of rabid Petheads? Makes for good DVD.

4) If they do invites only, most of the invitations would likely go to industry people, which would be very ironic given how the industry has treated Petra over the past several years. And industry types don't generally make the best crowds for filming a concert DVD.

I really hope they don't do the invitation only thing, unless they extend those invitations to people from the Zone (not likely). The Rolling Stones (why does it always come back to them?) recently had a "surprise" club gig in Toronto. People lined up for a couple of days to get in. They took the first 100 people or so and sent everyone else home. All the rest of the tickets went to insiders. People were pretty cheesed.

I'd just like to avoid any ugliness and make it fair.

I would say anyone with an in should talk to John/Bob/Inpop and see if they can hold tickets for at least some people in the zone.

If we took a roll call, I'm sure there's no more then 50-60 from here going.

I'll be seeing the band Sunday. If I get a chance to meet them, and get the nerve, I'll bring it too their attention to see if they will look after you folks.

Industry types??????? I thought they turned their back on Petra years ago. I am not going because of scheduling, but I will be very mad if the petheads are not on the list to go. THIS IS NOT RIGHT OR ACCEPTABLE!

God knows of all of us who are planning to go and He knows some of us have made plane reservsations and He knows how important this is.
I`m sure He has everything under control.

Lord Jesus, today I wanna pray for this farewell concert in Nashville, Tennesse. Lord, we have received news that this concert might turn into an invitation only thing and we are scared. Lord, we as petheads don`t know what but You do. Lord, work with the people from Inpop and that they change this decision. Make this concert be a blast to all of us and that today we can see a miracle Lord. For the ones that we made plans, Lord, we know You provided us the time and the money for it and we believe and trust that You won`t disappoint us, that You will fight the battle for us.

In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

Take a deep breath guys; it can be easy as Bridget pointed out for things to get out of hand.

But of course, that would never happen here.

It doesn't look like that many out-of-state people are going, so unless they're just flooded with people from the Nashville area, there probably will be less than 500 people.
