I was thinking that, what do they mean with an overwhelming response?

many petheads won`t go because of the time, (inpop didn`t let us know with time) and well, right now petra is not as popular as it was 10 years ago so, I didn`t get that either.

Well, there's only 500 spots for a free farewell concert. That will do it.

Hey guys,

I just wanted to give some clarification on this "invite only" issue. We've been COMPLETELY overwhelmed by the amazing response we've been receiving over the past few days about this live taping. What we originally thought would be a relatively small turnout has turned into something that we're having a bit of a hard time managing. Because we want this to be a FAN-oriented event, we're taking some extra measures to make sure that fans do get in and it's not simply another "industry" event.

Therefore, we'll be doing a first-come, first-serve ticketing situation. Yes, the concert will still be free. We'll be offering confirmed spots to the first 200 fans who sign up to come to the show via a dedicated RSVP form (this will be going up online within the next couple of days - I'll make sure you all know the URL as soon as it's up!). Keep in mind that if you are planning on bringing someone with you to the show, you will have to each apply for a "ticket" individually.

More details will come as soon as we get the online form set up. Thank you all so much for your enthusiasm and your patience as we sort through these logistics! This show is going to be absolutely amazing and we know you are all going to love it and the new album.

"I would say anyone with an in should talk to John/Bob/Inpop and see if they can hold tickets for at least some people in the zone.

If we took a roll call, I'm sure there's no more then 50-60 from here going. "

Thanks for thinking of people who visit other websites?! I frequently check up at PetraRocksMyWorld.com and Guide to Petra as well as Petraband.com, I don't get to check out the petrazone as much as I'd like, but believe me there are plenty of people that would love to get to the concert that may not be on this site...
As for catching up with the news here, its such a let down to hear that Louie will not be present, and I do hope there will be at least one new Petra song, there are so many compilations already....

if i was a businessman or some kind of an enterpreneur with enough money, i'd rent a huge arena and pay for all the band's expenses, and also the concert expenses (lighting, PA, etc), and sell cheap tickets so Petra could do a concert for 30,000 people.

I wonder what kind of response Inpop expected. Petra is still big time in the hearts of (at the very least) thousands.

Just about every concert posted has had people driving hours or even flying to see them.

You shouldn't have been.

When you have three major sites (johnwschlitt.com, guidetopetra.com and petrarocksmyworld.com) plus postings on the Zone, all putting out information and newsletters on this event, from past history those at Inpop should realize the intense fan base Petra has and the lengths to which those will travel to see the band they love.

Sleepy,

My bad. I thought this was the prime place for Petheads. I wasn't intentionally leaving out anyone.

That said, Inpop is doing quite a thing. Good luck to all of you who apply.

Both http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/news and http://www.christianrock.net are both reporting the story about the concert/cd/dvd as well. The latter even points to PRMW.

I think that's because Josh wrote the news article himself. ;)
