DVD release party!

Ok...I know I have mentioned this to some of you in person already...but I want your input on this...

Ok...we all know that the DVD will be out in the spring right? Well what would you guys say about having a DVD release watch party? I know it's a Loooooong way off.....but hey never hurts to be prepared! anyways...I was thinking if we could find a central location where everyone could meet like say here on Oklahoma or Missouri. If anybody has any suggestions keep posting them as you think of them.

Is it Spring or Nov 22nd. I think I saw in the official Inpop newsletter that the release date is Nov 22nd. Has there been a change?? I hope not

The CD is being released on the 22nd, right around Thanksgiving time. The DVD is supposed to be released in the spring.

Oh, thats a shame. I was under the impression that it was going to be a double disc release like the Casting Pearls CD & DVD. Oh well, I guess it gives us something more to look forward to.

Dallas is centrally located for me, but would be willing to travel to OKlahoma or Missouri. One thing though I will not go to Arkansas; Those roads are horrible!

Oklahoma is of course best for us.

Maybe the VERY best idea might be to find a town where there is a radio station that is supportive of Petra, AND that is somewhere that a lot of Petheads can get to. If we could find a radio station that is willing to cut a deal with Inpop and rent a place, and then promote the party, and then if we can get some of the Petheads who appear on the DVD to show up (and maybe even a band member or two... now THAT would be awesome!) we could have quite a party.

Unfortunately, it may be difficult for us to scramble up the money to travel again. We would want to be there, but it would have to be close for us, or at least somewhere we could bum a bed off someone for the night. We have relatives in Fort Worth and Wichita...

If you really want to be centrally located you ought to be shooting for Kansas. OK, Missouri or Texas are not very central for the people up north.

Yep, I agree. It will need to be as close as possible for Petheads who want to attend. Even more important, though, would be a supportive radio station to work on publicity. The party would be a LOT more fun with a ton of people there! So, do we have a station that qualifies? Supportive of Petra AND centrally-located?

WPFF / WRGX in Sturgeon Bay, WI is EXTREMELY supportive of Petra & John... AND the CEO is my friend. We've done John concerts AND Petra concerts together, and Petra just played at their festival in August.

It's not centrally located, though....

I could see a John / Andband solo concert in conjunction with the DVD party.... talk about a blast!

Knoxville isn't exactly centrally located, but our Christian radio station (WYLV) plays Petra pretty frequently (for an older group).

Sue..I guess I better get a job and quick:)...that would be a blast! I think we could save up enough for maybe the gas...if you could put is up that night in your little cottage..HEHE!

well, if you ask me, for me is like the same wherever you make it of course I won`t get mad if you organize in oklahoma or wisconsin hehehehehehehe but any way you choose is fine and ya know Cat I think we start to plan this so many of us can go and can start planning not like this last minute concert in frnaklin which was great but many pethead couldn`t make it because couldn`t plan it on time.

well...you have to admit all the rush rush made the Franklin trip much more exciting..even though it was a litttle tough! ...but let's plan ahead this time!:)

Here's an even better idea - by Bridget (she doesn't have full computer access from work, so she asked me to post her ideas):

First, having a concert with John (hopefully with AndBand) is a great
idea. ï¿½Having this party in Franklin/Nashville is an even better one
because we would not have to pay to transport John anywhere nor pay for a hotel for him. ï¿½We all managed to get there with two weeks notice, so I
think we could muster a good crowd with a couple of months notice.
Nashville is a big enough airport that cheap airfares can be found, and it
is within a day's drive of over half the US population (according to their
tourism commercials).

Second, we stand a good chance of getting Inpop's support, i.e., maybe
they will supply a venue (at least for the DVD screening). ï¿½Ideally, it
would be great to have a concert one night and the screening the next
night, but we could squeeze it all into one Saturday afternoon and evening
if we needed to.

Third, wasn't the radio station down there all over the taping? ï¿½Surely
they would want to follow up.

Fourth, we stand a better chance of other former members of Petra coming
to the release.

Thoughts?
