Yep, yep! We'll all be there...except for one of my sisters, who apparently thinks the military ball is more important.

I think my ex might even be there.

We're also going to Visalia and Mesa. Yay!

My cousin, currently serving in the Marine Corps attends Calvary, and he went to that concert randomly. Lucky duck.

Hi gang,

First time poster here; Petra fan since 1987.

My family and I went to the show last night. I've seen Petra in their heyday several times, but I haven't seen them since around 1992. Since this is their farewell tour, we had to go!

The concert was amazing. Thanks to the church for hosting this. It was great to hear the older Petra songs, as well as newer. While I missed some of my favorites, they did a great job at selecting a good range of songs from their entire catalog. I especially enjoyed the medleys. My kids have never been to a "rock" concert, so they also had a great time. What made the evening even more special was getting to meet Bob and John, and getting to tell them how much they impacted this former teenager's spiritual life "back in the day." They were genuine and appreciative. Paul and Greg were also very kind and sincere, not to mention extremely talented individuals! So thank you, Petra, for 18 years of ministering to me!

We did take some pictures, but I haven't put them online anywhere yet. If you'd like to see them, feel free to PM me!

Wow! This concert was even better than the last one!

Had a great time hanging out with you guys before and after the show.

The theme of the tour seems to be collaboration. Petra, Bread of Stone, and Farewell June help each other out quite a bit. Paul Simmons and Farewell June's keyboardist played for Bread of Stone. The keyboardist also played with Petra on the final song "Show Your Power."

Both Bread of Stone and Farewell June were great! Each, particularly June, showed a great deal of musical range.

Petra took the best bits of the Jekyll and Hyde tour and added some new incredible elements -- most notably from their live recording session.

The medley of rockers really had the audience excited. The mellow medley was downright beautiful.

John seemed to really let loose with his voice. There was some unapologetic arena rock scream in there.

Paul did an incredible extended drum solo -- which featured some programmed keyboard sounds that he played on top of toward the end.

Bob gave an alter call at the end. A few people raised their hands saying that they had prayed the prayer for the first time.

Something that was new for this concert was the fact that Food for the Hungry was given a lot of attention front and center. Wayne gave an extensive testimony and plea for sponsorships before showing the newest video of Petra going to Peru. They said that many children were sponsered last night.

Gear: Bob's using an awesome new red electric guitar. Don't know what brand, but it sounds great! Paul was using a set labeled "ddrums". His digital sample box worked better this time too.

I never thought to ask: Where was Sarah Brendel? And what's up with Farewell June's keyboard player? He does this odd circular twitch with his left arm that looks like he's constantly changing settings. He's a good player none the less.

There is so much more I could say about the concert, but I gotta run. It was absolutely amazing!

Oh yea, I need to add that a very generous person gave my friend a ticket for free when we walked over to the booth to buy him one. That was awesome! She said that they had some extras.

I just got back from Temecula where my friend Linda lives.

They rocked. I'll write a more extensive review later with the set list (I wrote it down I think I got most of it)

I got to say hi to Susannah, and I got to meet D'Anne, Julie and Mark for the first time. I said hi to the guys afterwards, briefly cuz it was so crowded and Linda and I wanted to get back to her place, it was getting late. John looked at Bob and said, "Watch out for this lady," when he saw me, it cracked me up. I gave him a big hug and got them to sign a T-shirt I'd bought.

Paul is one heck of a drummer, I have never seen anyone throw a drumstick in the air and catch it without missing a beat. We were right in the second row so we could see everything pretty well. Of course our ears were ringing afterwards, we were right by the monitors too.

Paul went up to the edge of the stage and gave a young girl one of his drumsticks, and I thought she was going to faint, LOL. That cracked me up too.

Mark's right, it was even better than the last one.

The set list is the same as for the October 4 taping, so there's probably no need to post that again.

It was a special treat to get to see and hear the mellow medley. Greg and Paul both have very good voices.

The bands that opened up for them were very good, Bread of Stone and Farewell June. Paul played drums for Bread of Stone and sang back up for them. I especially liked Farewell June, I loved it when they were playing the bluegrass music with the electric violin.

The guys seemed like they were having a really good time, and it showed. John held his mike out for the little kids sitting in front of the stage to sing along, I got a kick out of that. I was tempted to go sit in front of the stage with the kiddies, but seeing as I'm not a little kid any more I managed to restrain myself....

Linda probably would have gone "I refuse to admit I know this girl, let me outta here" if I'd done that. She's not quite as much of a lunatic or as prone to being impulsive as I am.

The pastor ran across the stage at one point, that was pretty funny.

They had a drawing for a guitar during the concert, boy was I jealous of the lucky person who won.

Of course if I had won I'd have been forced to take lessons and learn to play the dang thing.

Yea, that was great when Pastor Mike Reed ran across the stage again during "Creed". For some reason, I didn't get it until the second concert. This time, John had to point it out:
