Sounds like it was a lot of fun. :)

Hey, don't look at ME... I never said I had any control over what my wife calls the band members! hehe she's just jealous... and so are YOU girls! MWA HA HA!!!

Actually I had Paul Simmons in my front seat and one guy from Farewell June and one from Bread of Stone in the back seat. When I get a concert review written up it'll have the rest of the story in it. It was pretty fun... they were cutting up a bit with a camera phone. :)

Hiya everyone! I'm alive, but still recovering from that long road trip to Oklahoma... Let me tell you, travelling with GHF was, um, interesting, to say the least!

First off, John and I are not married, but were officially engaged in June 2005. We don't even live in the same state yet! Sometime in 2006...

Second, I am a full-blooded Pethead (who came to Christ at a Petra show in 1997), and I wanted that sealed LP for my collection just as much as the next fan. It was funny when they drew my number, as noone believed me when I said I had won!! Bob signed it for me, but I have yet to get any of the other 3 to put pen to the plastic. Go figure!

I haven't written my concert review yet, but when I finish, I will have the full setlist, my opinions on the event, and lots of hysterical road stories from travelling with the GHF guys for some 36 hours in one weekend... There are some things already on my livejournal (link in my sig), and the rest will be up in the next few days. Stop by and check it out!

Some quick notes:
-riding 18 hours each way with a bunch of musicians was, um, quite entertaining at times...
-The event seemed rather chaotic, due to lots of circumstances, but the bands that DID play did a good job, and I had a great time.
-It was fun meeting all the Petheads in another part of the country
-Sam and her other half make some great food!
-there isn't much in Oklahoma besides cows and open space
-Petra can still make me break down and cry ("Show Your Power")
-Petra does and always will mean ROCK!

Check my journal for all the details over the next week or so. I'll keep adding stuff as I think of it.

Hey Cat,

Don't worry about crying. It was an emotional time and - you are supposed to cry during songs that touch you, or moments that grab you!! 8)

Jen, it was great meeting you too, and I thought it was just too hilarious that YOU were the one who won that first PETRA album. :D
I bet it was interesting travelling with musicians. It can get crazy sometimes. Nope, there isn't much in OK or TX for that matter, except for the open space.....that's why I love travelling up north so much better, hehe.

MJ, I can just imagine your trip to the hotel with those guys in the car, HAHAHA. I'm just glad you were there and available to do that for them.

It was a great time and I'm happy that all of us could be there - and seeing Nancy and Gary again, that was a treat too.

Cat & MJ, Sherry and John, thanks so much for helping us out! We couldn't have done it without you and your encouragement.

OK, my write up and the setlist are on my journal. I still need to post some of the road stories, and will do that in the next few days. You guys are gonna roll at some of them!

Thanks to everyone I met this weekend for such a great time.

Not to completely derail this, but that sounds WONDERFUL. (I have often said we should move down to Nebraska, as it's just like SK but warmer winters. Perfecto.) :D

hey everyone.Carl from Sword of Light here.thanks for the comments on the Enid event.when i talked to him sunday Brian seemed kinda bummed by the poor turnout(numbers wise),tech problems and the fact that we had so many sponsors pull out at the last minute.but he was encouraged that several people were led to the Lord by John Schlitt and by Mandy Creed,s ministry.that is really what it is really all about.pray for Brian and Sword of Light that these problems will be overcome and Sword of Light can continue bringing ministry oriented musical events to Oklahoma.it was good to meet reoracer(Jen),Sam and her husband Warren,Michael from the Petratulsa website and maybe a few others that might post on here.thanks for all your support.you are appreciated and i hope we all get to meet and maybe work together again.

Stay away from Tulsa and Oklahoma City. According to a recent studie, Tulsa is #2 in the USA for Worst Wemon's Health, and OKC is #3 in the USA.
