Vintage (?) Tapes for sale

Post by Petra_Pete » Fri Nov 25, 2005 1:34 pm

Hello fellow Petheads! I have been given the mandate to clean out my tape collection or it is going to Value Village (a 2nd hand store). Rather than do that, I want to offer them to you first. I am making a list, and checking it twice, and will post it here in the near future. I am selling them at $1.00 a piece (plus postage) and as is since I haven't heard some of them in over 10 years. Some tapes include: Michael W. Smith, Guardian, Geoff Moore, DeGarmo and Key and many more. Sorry, no Petra, NO WAY am I parting with those! I'm sure you understand. 8)

My wife thought that this might be a good idea and since she's the one "encouraging" me to go through these, if you buy 10 you get 2 free. So you get 12 for the price of 10! And even 25 for the price of 20.

Doesn't sound familiar, but I haven't even scratch the surface of what I have yet, but I don't think I have that one. Sorry.

I'm interested in any and probably all of your Geoff Moore and Guardian... Let me know what you have. And if you send me a list of all you are selling, I will probably take a good chunk of them... I still have a tape deck in my vehicle.

 Tapes are tabulated and ready to be listed (including 2 CDs). I listed them in alphabetical order (using last name if a person rather than a group) and I also added the tape name and the year released. E-mail me at [email protected] or [email protected]. That would be easier for me to know where (need your address eh) to send them. Also, let me know if you want the plastic case or not.... I'm thinking that without will cut down shipping cost. I'll also come back here periodically to update the list. I've added  to indicate the ones with a Petra connection. Oh yeah, I also have a "Media Alert" tape that I might be convinced to part with too, but not for $1. I will listen to offers though. Happy reading!

80's music is dang cool, but not 80's technology

Post by seichu kaisho » Fri Nov 25, 2005 11:06 pm

The only tapes I have that I normally listen to are On Through the Night and Retroactive by Def Leppard. I also have on tape a couple Stryper albums - to Hell with the Devil (which I replaced with a cd) and Against the Law - and three Rich Mullins tapes.

I prefer CD's far over tapes because the tape deck on my CD player plays tapes with poor sound quality and plays them slightly too fast. Plus you've got the unavoidable tape hum.

And it's almost impossible to find any album on tape these days, even on the Internet.

Noticed a spelling mistake on the poll. It should read "No way! They're so 1980's." Oops, sorry.

Have you used your computer to convert them to CD or MP3's, or did you just buy new ones.

Don't have that type of technology myself to convert to CDs or MP3s, thought that would be nice. Some of the tapes I have/had I did rebuy as a CD though. Now I'm looking to move them and make room for other stuff (kids need more room for their stuff eh.).
