I guess
I guess for the most part
Having at least more collections to come out after Petra is over would allow us to keep buying new stuff even if we already own all those songs. However if Word and EMI would really get original about it, I'm sure there are several re-takes and demos that could be put together in a box set.
So far bands like Jars of Clay and others have done this. Petra being 33 years should have way more material in the archives that could be released in a box set. I remember us talking about the Revival Demos and J&H Demos. But I would also like to here demos and re-takes from the "Beyond Belief" sessions or "Unseen Power" sessions.
I'm still holding my breath for a CITAS DVD (and it is CITAS because it's "Captured In Time And Space")............lol

Speaking of the praise collection, i already have a CD entitled "The Praise Collection Vol.1" put out by Word a few years back with various artists including Petra with the songs plus instrumental peformance tracks included.
And if you're talking about Petra rarities here's one coz on this CD they have "The Holiest Name (acoustic version)" from PP2. This version is quite nice - no drums just piano and acoustic guitar and vocal of course, like a toned down mix of the PP2 version. And theres a performance version of this song too on the CD.
Interesting hey

Re: re
"Digitally Re-Enhanced" What? You mean remixed or remastered? Usually that is only done to analog recordings. If someone markets a digitally enhanced digital CD, then they are full of crap and marketing whores. Anyone that owns iTunes and moves the EQ has digitally enhanced (possibly) digital. Once a digital recording is digital and mastered, there isn't anything that can be done to it but make it worse. Nobody remasters digital, because it will never be better than the original, because the analog to digital conversion has occurred, and DSP has been applied, further damaging the signal.pmal wrote:I wonder if the songs have been digitally re-enhanced or if its just the same mix striped together ...

I think it would be a good thing have, but I don't think any company would go through the troulbe of spending that much money for something like that. The price would most likely be high, and not too many people would buy it. I think most Petra fans who are looking for older albums are just going to have to hope to find them on ebay or something like that. Possibly there would be some record company that would reprint a few of them at a time on one cd or something (the Petra praise collection for example). Of course they are only going to do this if they saw some viable means of profit from it.

Usually the band/artist signs a separate contract for the pics, logos, how the name will be used, etc. The artists management normally (if we can use that word in this contaxt) has a say in this. In other words, this is used by permission.Petrapraise wrote:The "Petra" logo is the current Petra logo. I wonder if they are allowed to use that without permission. If they can't, then someone in the Inpop or Petra staff is probably getting something. Plus, I just don't think they wouldn't get any royalties, but stranger things have happened.
