Ready, Willing and Able - Acoustic Version?

Post by misterbob » Tue Dec 13, 2005 11:08 pm

Hi folks...

Wondering if Petra ever released the full acoustic version of RW&A that is featured on the Backstage Pass VHS? That's how I came to know the song and love that version, as short as it was.

Anyone?

As far as I know it hasn't been released other than on Backstage Pass.

Did you notice that the lyrics are a bit different than the recording on Unseen Power? John's singing: 'The pressure is mounting, the temperature's hot' instead of 'The pressure is mounting, the tension is hot'. Perhaps there were more lyrics alterations, but I'm not sure. I haven't watched Backstage Pass in a long time.

I've often wondered if there was a full version of this kicking around too. I made my own patched together mp3 version using the clips from the video. So I ended up using the same chorus after each verse, and then fading into the CD version like they do on the video. It does the trick.

If you'd like a copy of that, just fire me an email.

But... John is singing totally FLAT on that. I for one am shocked that they went ahead and put it on the video... much less on a CD. Cool concept, but not a stellar performance from John.
