The author wouldn't happen to be a journalist from Wisconsin, would it Sue?

Here's your title:

No, Bill, the author isn't from the North Woods.

Really, I've always wanted to do a book on John, but the Lord has said no - that is not what I have for you to do.

No, it's a certain writer who hails from Indiana, actually. You can see God's hand all over this, because this gal had no "inroads" to John nor did she know him personally. But the Lord had put it on her heart to do this book, and it just wouldn't go away. But how to approach John about it? She didn't know.

But God did!

This lady and I met here on the Zone exactly a year ago and started emailing. We then met in person a few times, hung out together - and there you have it - she had her connection to John. NOT that this was her intention to use me to get to John - no, it was God's intention.

Since then she's been doing tons of research, including interviews with John, sending rough transcripts to Dorla for accuracy proofing, checking into publishing and agents... there's loads of potential here.

But the reason I know for sure that God's hand is in this one: I've had a number of people approach me over the years about writing a book for John. Some have even sent opening chapters and synopsis'. People have approached John also, many times. But he never really took an interest - until now. He's fully behind this one, as is Dorla.

SO.... with that info - can you figure out who's the author?

Not exactly..... she's still in the writing process, about halfway done.

It depends on John too, if he wants the book to stand on its own, come out in conjunction with his solo project, or what.

He honestly hasn't had time to deal with much of anything on the solo side with all of Petra going on this past 6 months.

Once Bridget gets back home, I'm sure she'll be able to fill you in on all the progression.

She's been a car-driving maniac over these past few days. She drove:

Down to Dawsonville from Indianapolis on Dec. 29.
Picked up John from Atlanta's airport on Dec. 30 and took him to Dawsonville.
Drove John back to Atlanta from Murphy at 3 a.m. to catch a 6 a.m. flight on Dec. 31/Jan. 1 back to Myrtle Beach for his solo date.
Then drove up to Gatlinburg for a few days of shopping (and sleeping!).
Then back home today.

WHEW....!

THANK YOU, girlfriend, for taking such good care of John. I greatly appreciate it.

Wow, that girl is a maniac. I'm glad John didn't have any trouble getting from one gig to the other. :)

Well, I wouldn't say there wasn't any trouble.

Coming into Atlanta from Myrtle Beach - the plane was delayed. There was tons of traffic while driving out of Atlanta and up to Dawsonville - not to mention taking a wrong turn and driving 1/2 hour out of the way before realizing it. But the sound check was taking way longer than expected in Dawsonville, so it's not like he delayed the show.

Then driving 2.5 hours from Murphy back to Atlanta - on unknown, dark, winding roads at 3 a.m., Bridget staying up all night to drive John there for a flight that's leaving shortly after 6 a.m. - it was hairy at best.

Poor guy didn't even get to take a shower after doing the two shows in Murphy. He did change shirts, though. lol! Hopefully there was time to freshen up in Myrtle Beach...

All in all it turned out, but it wasn't an easy thing.

Yes, praise God, it did all work out!

Knowing I might be called into duty to get John back to Atlanta (or heaven forbid, Myrtle Beach), I came prepared. I had a pillow and blankets in the back so John was actually able to get 2 hours of sleep on the way to the airport.

As for the book, it is an honor and like Sue mentioned about her booking opportunities, it is also a responsibility. It has already been a real blessing to me, for totally unexpected reasons. I've learned a lot about myself, and so much about our heavenly Father.

I think you all will enjoy it.
