Prayer And Fast for Petra: Tuesday

Thank you everyone for participating. I'm doing good, but fading fast, hehehe. I haven't even been hungry until a little while ago. It's been a very good day!
Even if you can't fast, you are praying and that's awesome!

I want to add a prayer as well:

Dear Lord Jesus,

How we thank You for Your presence in our lives and how we can feel Your presence through the tough times. Even when we can't feel you, we do know from Your Word that You are always near us, that You never leave nor forsake us. That the righteous are never forsaken.
How wonderful it is to know that when we call upon You and come and pray to You that You will listen to us. If we seek You, we will find You if we seek You with all our heart.

Lord, as the ministry of Petra as a band has come to an end the ministry of every individual involved with the band has not. It is continuing and has just begun to go into a new direction.
I also pray for direction for Bob, Greg, Paul and John, that they would be sensitive to Your guidance and see the way You are leading. Right now as things are still in the process of developing, I pray that You help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning it's shame and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

These maybe some difficult times ahead for some of the band members and Lord and discouragement can come upon them so quickly. Yet each one of them has been called and I pray that they will steadfastly continue in that calling. Thank You Lord, that you establish them.

As I was reading through Isaiah 58:7-12, there's lots of ministry to be done. There are so many who are hungry, not just physically but also emotionally - hungry for something better, hungry for good news, hungry with a need for salvation - Petra as individuals can go and divide their bread and feed them with the gifts and talents You have given them.

There are many who are homeless, not just physically, but spiritually, walking around wondering what their future may hold. How Petra as individual ministers can bring them into the Father's house.

There are many who are naked, defenseless against the schemes of the devil, naked because they are not clothed with the redeeming blood of Christ. Use John, Bob, Greg and Paul to clothe them and minister to them.
I pray especially for John for those opportunities - as he's been through it and Lord that You would provide the finances for him so he can just minister and not worry about charging for concerts.

May their light break out like the dawn and their recovery speedily spring forth; and their righteousness will go before them. The glory of the Lord will be their rear guard and they will call and You Lord, You will answer; They will cry and You will say: Here I am.

Help John and the rest of the guys not to dispair. Help them to know that if they give themselves to the callings You have placed upon their lives....that you will continually guide them, satisfy their desire in the scorched places they may feel they are in. That you give strength to their bones and that they will be like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. I pray that for their own lives as well as for the lives of every person they will be touching in their individual ministries as they go out.

May those ruins be rebuilt, may the age old foundations be raised. May John, Bob, Paul and Greg be called the repairer of the breach and the restorers of the streets in which the hopeless dwell.

May the callings you have placed upon Sue and Bridget be effective as they work with John. May you bring the contacts to Sue of places who need to hear the message You have for people through John.

May Sue not be afraid, but may she be like that watered garden and that spring of water that overflows, because You Lord, who lives within her do not fail!
Thank You Lord, that You have gifted Bridget in an awesome way and have layed this burden on her heart to write this book. This book, Lord, I know it will touch people and change lives, because it's a testimony of someone who's been there and it's a testimony of the living power of God that is active and living and transforms hearts and lives. May this book bring people to hunger for Your Word and desire to seek You.

Thank You Lord for Cat, who has reminded us that these are times that require more than just prayer. That we as a body are to come together not for a show of - well we can starve - but as an act of obedience, a call to action to pray on behalf of those who have ministered to us for all these years. Now it's time for US to give back to THEM. The best way to do so - is prayer with power.

Lord thank You for strengthening us, thank You for hearing us, thank You for hearing our hearts and our hearts cry. Bring hope to John....let Him see that You have mighty plans for him. Plans to expand his borders and that Your hand would always be with him. Keep him from harm and focusing on the wrong things so that it may not pain him, but that he would go forth with joy, knowing that You provide.

I thank You for all the Petheads who have prayed for this band in the past, now and who will continue to pray for them in the future. May we be a people after Your own heart and not forget those who have served us. May we be people who love each other and pray for one another. Bind us togehter with chords of Your love that cannot be broken. Bless them Lord, bless them this day and pour out Your Spirit upon all of us.

Dear Father


We thank you Lord for all these who are taking part in this right now. I ask you to help us to be an encouragement to each other as we help each other fufill the dreams and callings that you have placed in each of us.

Lord...We want to pray for Bob as he begins possible mentoring and teaching new atrists to use thier gift for your glory. Give him peace knowing that he has been a faithful servant for 33 years. Let him have the peace in knowing that so many millions of people are forever changed because he stepped out in faith to start a band that many said would fail... But Lord we thank you that you had an awesome plan. You knew his heart and you know his heart now. Please let him know that we love him and are greatful for his faithfulness to do what seemed daring. Thankyou for his courage.

Lord we lift up John right now. We know that you have given him so many wonderful gifts. Let him see how his light has brought so many the light of the gospel. If he discouraged right now...bring others into his path that can lift him up w/ words of encouagement to keep going in his calling. Hold him right now...Jesus. Let your word become his comfort right now and speak wisdom into is heart that when he sees an opporuntity... he knows that he knows it is from you! Help all those near to him to be strong and lean closer to you then ever before. We Thankyou for his boldness to step out and become a part of Petra...but Lord we know that you have even greater things for him. Many have still have yet to hear. We know that you are not through with his testimony. You never take back a gift once it has been given. We know that he loves to sing for you...open doors right now!

I also would like to pray for Paul.. We ask you to cover him w/ your love right now. Help him to sense you near as he begins to look toward the future. thankyou god for his testimony. Thankyou for theheart he has to work w/ children in India. Lord...I know that is his desire to help those children. Open doors for him to help kids with addiction. Send others his way to encourage him to fufill that dream. He has so much t day and so many that need to hear it!

Lord I would like to pray for Greg right now...I ask you to bring the right people to him as well.... if he is to be in another band . i ask you Lord to bring them his way! I thank you for the light that he is the sweet spirit that you have placed in him. If he is to be a pastor or whatever..Lord we know that you have him in your hand.

I pray for Sue right now. She is so desiring your wisdom and direction right now. Thankyou for her obedience to hear your voice and to do what you have asked. That is you desire for your children to be totally surrendered. Anything that might be hindering her right now...Lord I ask that you would remove it. "Greater is he that is in her than he that is in the world!" Let her know stand on that promise right now!

Lord I pray for Bridgette...Thank you that you have placed her in this place at this time. I am sure she may feel overwhlmed and maybe nervous about the opportunity to do this book for John. Bless her hands as she writes. Give her peace knowing that she is working for you Lord. Give her a vision of the many people that will be set free and delieverd by the story. We ask for the right publisher to come into her path. prepare them and let them know that this is a great ministry opportunity for them as well.

We love you Lord and we ask it all in the name of Jesus

I know some will disagree with me for this post, and that's ok. But for those who agree, remember you can also pray in the spirit. Jude 20 tells us to build ourselves up on our most holy faith, praying in the spirit. When I fast, praying the Spirit really helps me.

I do that , sometimes I just don�t know for what to pray exactly, (ya know if I�m on a situation and I don�t know what exactly to ask for to happen) I pray in the spirit , sometimes I just do it because there might be something i don�t know I need but my spirit does so I just pray like that.

I talked with John yesterday and, amongst other things, told him we were doing the prayer and fasting again - not just once a month, but weekly, every Tuesday.

He was surprised, but VERY appreciative and thanks all of you who participated, either by prayer, fasting or both.

You know, God will give the answers - in His time. In the meantime, we're told to TRUST Him and rely on His plan, which no one can stop or hinder.

That's something I've learned - and am still learning, because it's so easy to fall back into those old patterns of worry and doubt.

But there are so many examples in the Bible of people who have had to WAIT on the Lord for their promise from Him. Look at Abraham... he was promised that a great nation would come from him - and yet he was old and ancient and still didn't have a child. It was something like 20 years between the promise and the time Sarah gave birth to Isaac.

How about Joseph - he was sold as a slave at age 17, and sat in jail for years before he was eventually promoted to the #2 position in all of Egypt.

Look at Moses - again, TONS of time spent in the desert before the Lord ever brought him in to Pharaoh to lead the Israelites out.

Even Paul - between the Damascus road revelation and the time he started out preaching was in the vicinity of three years.

All this time... time spent waiting, wondering, questioning if what they heard was real.

Oh, it was real - it was preparation time. God was getting their hearts right, in order that they might be able to do the job they were required to do.

Perhaps we're looking at that now: Prep Time.
