Which is an odd reason because the rock medly contains It Is Finished from Beat the System which is the album just before Back to the Street, and the acoustic set has songs that go back even further, all the way back to Never Say Die (For Annie and The Coloring Song).Petrapraise wrote:Someone asked John at the Murphy concert why Petra didn't play anything from "Back To The Street". He just said the music was "too old".

I like No Doubt, although for a long time I didn't. It's not in my "top 5", but, I play it often mostly to hear the title track. No Doubt(the song) has ministered to me in times of difficulty and Enter In has become one of my "All-Time" favorites as well.executioner wrote:

No, it's not a joke. I never joke around. I think you can find copies of it on that online auction site, what's it called... oh yeah...OBOYMountain Man wrote:Is this a joke, or is there really an album by this title?js3971 wrote:I really disliked Petra's version of "I Where My Sunglasses at Night" off of their "Songs You Really Don't Want to Hear By Us" album. SYRDWHBU to be official.
I must admit though I really liked their version of "La Bamba" off of that same album.

I have found something to like in just about every Petra CD...but I agree that No Doubt started a trend where their sound started to change. But, I think their best stuff, in my opinion, was from This Means War to Unseen Power.
When I first heard God Fixation, I didn't like it too much, but just a few months ago I popped it into my Cd player not to long after I hooked up a new amplifier with bass subwoofer and the album sounded awesome. I don't know if bass makes that much of a difference, but it made the album sound really, really good.

Funny how everyone ends with "Unseen Power" and starts with "No Doubt" but always seems to skip over "Wake Up Call". An album I like alot, and one that makes the transition to "No Doubt" easier.
Although I agree "No Doubt" is lacking the usual Petra "Punch" and apparently they had a few personnel problems at the time. I still like it for the reasons stated above. Yes God can make something good out of bad circumstances.

I'm with ya on WUC, greenchili. I liked that album better than Unseen Power when it came out-but no one else seems to care that much for it...

Until Jeckyl and Hyde came out, I was thinking that Wake Up Call would be remembered as the last great Petra album.
As far as God Fixation being a forgotten album, it's not. Not in the sense that it is not remembered. just not that memorable. There are a few good tracks on it, but a lackluster effort overall. It is what it is, on the scale of all the Petra albums it is somewhere in the middle.
