The Steelers and Seahawks both have looked impressive during the playoffs. I would have to say that the Super Bowl looks like a toss up. I will be cheering for the Seahawks in this one. I've always disliked the Steelers, and I usually will go for teams that have not played in the championship before. It should be a good game though.

I hope the 'Hawks will take it, but I think the Steelers are a more solid team.
I just couldn't believe the spanking that the Broncos and especially the Panthers took yesterday! I thought SURE the Panthers were going to take their game!

To all of your various replies...I say...
yamasaaaki har har Carolina Panthers NFL Team
Michael I have heard a lot of folks who thought that Carolina would win for sure and who also say that the Steelers are more solid than Seattle. What do you see that I don't? I see the top rated passer in the NFC, the NFL MVP/Rushing Champion, strong receivers and special teams, a coach that has actually won a Super Bowl, and a severely underrated defense, including two Rookie Pro-Bowlers (Tatupu will probably win Rookie of the Year too). I agree that the Stihlers are strong too but they don't seem as strong as everyone thinks.
js3971 I agree that it'll be a close one. I'm not a gambler but anytime the line on the game is + or - 3 or 3.5, that means that it ought to be close. I just hope it'll be an exciting game either way!
executioner Why?

Here are some reasons why I feel the Steelers will win.
1. The offensive line has allowed one sack in the playoffs(4 sacks in the last 7 games total) all wins. The Colts and Broncos both had the best pass rush in the NFL during regular season.
2. Rothlesburger is hot right now; One of the highest passer ratings in NFL playoff history.
3. Steelers have dominated the first half of the 3 playoff games like no one has seen; All against the top 3 seeds in the AFC and on the road.
4. The blitz! They will blitz at anytime during the game. The Seahawks have no one to control Joey Porter or the guy with the long hair. Haselback will have to throw on the run and that will cause errant throws from him.
5. Last but not least is they have moxy right now like none other.
If the Steelers get the lead it will be lights out for the Seahawks. Cowher is 101-1 in his career when he has a 11 or more point lead. I think it will be a close game but the Seahawks will need a great game from Haselback and also need to get to the Quarterback with their pass rush(keep in mind that Carolina and Washington both had allowed more sacks and hurries than anyone in the playoffs)
THERE IS MY CASE!

OK...here's my reply (remember...we're just having fun!)
Yes these statements may be true. However, sacks mean nothing if Li'l Ben has nobody open thanks to the 'Hawks linebackers and safeties. Plus, if the Stihlers are not leading after the 1st quarter, he'll have to throw under duress which he is not always so good at.Here are some reasons why I feel the Steelers will win.

Now let's be fair. The Steelers have done well in the 1st half. You do seem to forget that there were a few problems on the other side of the ball. Namely: Carson Palmer's Leg, Peyton Manning's Ego, Jake Plummer's implosion.3. Steelers have dominated the first half of the 3 playoff games like no one has seen; All against the top 3 seeds in the AFC and on the road.
While I will certainly concede that Porter is good (when he shuts his mouth long enough), saying that we have noone to control him is ridiculous. There is a reason why Shaun Alexander won the rushing title dontcha think? 3 Pro Bowlers blocking on what many in the sports media call the best leftside in the league. On the line we have Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson and then one of the most underrated Fullbacks in the league, Mack Strong. They can blitz all day and even have success, they just won't do as much damage as you think.4. The blitz! They will blitz at anytime during the game. I presume you are referring to intangible momentum-types of things but just as much as the Stihlers have a lot of "mo", you must give some credence to the power of the "12th Man", even from afar.
I am good with that stat. I do want to remind you that Bill Cowher is a stubborn coach and if he loses his cool, Holmgren will pick him apart. Also, Matt can have an "OK" game and they will still win. I agree that the Panthers and Redskins aren't exactly the Patriots and the old Steelers but that's the hand we were dealt. You probably need to stop relying on the sack count on both sides of the line however. It hasn't made much difference for us...plus, I haven't even mentioned two Rookies named Tatupu and Hill!If the Steelers get the lead it will be lights out for the Seahawks. On the contrary Sacks and hurries mean everything in this game, but I don't see your rush defense getting to BIG Ben; The Steelers offensive line is too good.

All those things happened because of the Steelers rush defense.

I give you credit there but the Bengals are said to have a great offensive line but could do nothing with them same goes for the Colts.

Holmgren has been credited with alot of bad calls and meltdowns in the playoffs over the years according to the national media. Yes Cowher is stubborn but he is good at picking from the gut with his decisions.

I am actually hoping for total domination on the Steelers part. I ccan see it happening like all three of their playoff games, getting a large lead and than running the ball up the gut in the 4th quarter.

Do people in Sasquatch Falls look for sasquatches? What is the proper plural of sasquatch?
I work in an office of people who counsel Drug and Alcohol Addicts, and when I first started working here, one of the clients claimed that Big Foot tried to climb into his window at home. He took some pictures. I've never seen a real one, but Texas sasquatches look a lot like trees. Perhaps if I were on drugs...
