What is the latest of Louie?
After reading all the stuff about Bob not saying anything about John, I began to wonder about Louie Weaver. This is not saying that I do not like John or Bob. I fact my youth group is working awfully hard to get John to come and do a solo concert in 2007. We (I especially) are very excited about having a concert like this is a small Methodist Church. Anyway, I have always loved Louie and wonder where he is. Who knows, maybe I can meet him one day. Thanks for the info. The PrayinManis.

Still In One Peace, The PrayinManis
Louie is part of a new band called Viktor. Go to Viktorband.com and check out the site. There isn't much new news, but here is the latest. John Lawry is still producing the record. There are three songs in the can. I just talked to Mike Holeton, who is Viktor's agent, two days ago. He said that John has been rehearsing with the guys outside of the studio, so that they can make the most of their time in the studio. They are looking to have it done, mixed, mastered and ready to ship in March I think.
Viktor's push is to not sound dated. John has been working with them on modernzing vocals, etc.
The band will be playing a showcase in the pm at GMA Week. Don't know what day yet. They will be hiring the appropriate indie reps, PR staff, etc to make this CD sell.
Louie is still working for Tommy, driving tour busses when not playing gigs, rehearsing, etc.

Just to avoid confusion, the "John" referred to in Brent's post is John Lawry, not John Schlitt. John Schlitt has nothing to do with Viktor.
And, not to step on any toes, but while I'm at it, I'll go ahead and answer the question about John Schlitt and Louie on PDC. No they did not do their parts at the same time or even at the same studio.
You know Petra's had its share of Johns, and Gregs too for that matter.

First came Louie. Then cam the rest of the recording. Then came a car out of nowhere that took out our original singer while riding his Indian motorcycle. Then came John. Louie wouldn't have done it if John was on the CD. John didn't care that Louie was on the CD. Louie has cooled down, but feels betrayed. Our intent was to hire the closest person to Wayne that we could find. John did the whole album in two days, at his son in-laws project studio. It was a rushed, last minute deal so that we could keep from losing money deposited to make the CD.calicowriter wrote:Just to avoid confusion, the "John" referred to in Brent's post is John Lawry, not John Schlitt. We thought that having Petra artists would help a little. It has done the opposite. Radio won't touch us, because John's voice is Petra. The fact Louie was on it didn't matter, because drums are drums. We were not going for a second Petra. It is what it is: a modern version of old songs from an old band. if I wanted to recreate Petra, I could have built a project with more of the players.
