Sharing a poem I wrote and the portrait I drew for the poem

This is a poem I wrote for my friend Bruce that I go to church with. I also drew his portrait.
My Dear Friend


Their are so many things I want to tell you my Dear Friend.
Like how i long to hold your hand
and slip my fingers between your fingers
and gently bring our hands to my lips

Their is more I would like to tell you my Dear Friend.
For I also long to caress your face
run my fingers through your beard
and after kissing my hand place it on your lips

So many feelings i have for you my Dear Friend.
they make me want to hug you
and lay my head on your shoulder
and gently press my lips to yours.

When You are hurting my Dear Friend
I wish I could take away your pain
and give to you all your hearts desires
even if i cant do these things I still love you

I know I have not yet told you that I love You my Dear Friend
it is too soon to tell you this
you are still healing and not yet ready
I am afraid of going too fast

I do love you just as you are my Dear Friend
I enjoy our talks we have
you are very easy to talk to
and I can tell you things I can't tell others

You made me soo happy my Dear friend
when i asked if I could take your picture
then my flash didn't go off
and you let me take it twice

You made me even happier my Dear friend
your brother was teasing saying I would throw darts
I said no my picture was more likely to throw darts at
and you said no that i was too pretty.

One of these days we will be ready Dear friend
and i will ask you out to lunch
or maybe even you will ask me out on a date
My heart will trully sing on that day.

I send you all my love my Dear Friend
I drew a portrait with that picture,I hope you dont mind
I shall draw another as well, for I want to give this protrait to you
yet at the same time i also want to keep it, close to my heart.

That's a nice drawing Sharon. Without anything to compare it to, I suspect it is a good likeness.

he was in a motorcycle accident before I met him and lost the use of his left arm...in august he told me he wasn't looking for a girlfriend when i tried to tell him that i liked him..I think because I am getting too close and that is scarring him. also sunday I hugged him and he then sat in the balcony. please pray for him to not be afraid to let me get close.

It is a pretty good likeness.
I surmised that it would be because the drawing actually looks like it is someone as opposed to a generalisation.

As for him not wanting a girlfriend, well just be good friend and see if anything happens after that. Good luck

I called on monday and left a message telling him how I feel and about the poem...then yeaterday I had a strong urg to call him.. I allways want to call him just to hear his voice but most of the time will talk myself out of it..anyway I did call him and his mom answered his cell phone saying he had just gone back to have surgery.. which worried me lol..after finding out who I was she reasured me it was a small surgery and I got off the phone worried for a few minutes wanting to know more such as if it was outpatient or if he was going to have to stay in the hospital. so I called back expecting his mom to answer again. she didn't she had either gone to the doctors office room where bruce was or had taken the phone with her to tell him I called..cause Bruce answered. I asked about whether outpatient or hospital and he said outpatient we paused a moment then he had to go cause the doctor was about to start the surgery. I dont know what the surgery was for ..but have an idea of what it might be..i will find out latter today.
