Hi everybody,
I'm sure most of you are aware of Kenny Metcalf, and his role in the ministry of Stryper. Below is a current email from his lovely daughter Shar that moved me to tears.
I just got off the phone with Kenny from his hospital room... I tear up just thinking about it. He's going through so much pain, and his family with him. Please pray for them. I believe that God will answer our prayers and heal him completely.
mods: I would ask that this post stay in this sections of the forum, as it seems to be the most used and viewed. We need prayer and the more that read this the better. Please copy it to other folders and/or emails as you see fit.
thank you in advance for your powerful prayers,

Keeping The Fire Burning!
_______________
Greetings Dear Friends,
This is Sharlene Kenny's daughter. He asked me to
email you to inform you of his latest condition. As
you know we have been praying for my dad's complete
healing and restoration for almost two years now. It
looks like our prayers are finally coming to fruition.
As of yesterday, February 6, he is being treated at UC
Irvine Medical Center in the Burn Intensive Care Unit.
It has been a long and painful journey, but we are
still hopeful that the BEST years of his life have yet
to come.
A lot has happened this weekend and I would like to
share the events that took place:
My Aunt Rose went to a bridal shower on Sunday and
began talking with her friend Tammy, a nurse at UCI in
the Burn Unit. When Rose told her about dad's
condition and the name of his diagnosed disease, Tammy
told her that they (UCI) had treated four cases in the
last year. One patient was so advanced that it was
possible to see her bones through the open sores on
her body. This patient stayed in the hospital and
received treatment for two months and went home
completely healed! Tammy said to get him into the
hospital as soon as possible because she was confident
they could help him.
As soon as we (mom, Desi, and I) heard this we KNEW
that he needed to go there. So mom told dad that he
should go there so that they could at least help clean
out his wounds and maybe give him some comfort. He did
not want to go. The pain had become so unbearable that
the fear of more pain made him resist this suggestion.
Desi and I encouraged my mom to put her foot down,
because we knew he needed to go. We all prayed that
God would give dad the courage and ability to receive
the help that He was sending.
The next day mom woke up and told him that she was
taking him to the hospital when she got home from
work. I checked on him later that morning and knew
that he needed to go right away. He was pale and
sweating and looked like he was only an inch from
death. I called mom and told her to get home right
away.
Tammy called the emergency room to let them know that
he was coming in. When he got there he had to wait in
the waiting room for a while. During that time he said
he felt like he was going to pass out, and within a
moment his eyes rolled back into his head and he did.
When they took his blood pressure it was down to 70/65
and he was severely dehydrated. The emergency room
staff did not know what to do for him and were talking
about releasing him.
We prayed that they would not turn him away, and that
someone would help him instead. Tammy contacted the
burn unit and told them about my dad, his condition,
and his whereabouts. A nurse from the burn center came
down and was amazed that no one had offered to help,
or had given him any pain medication. He was given an
IV with hydrating solution and shortly after was moved
to the Burn Unit. Where he was admitted for treatment.
The staff has been so friendly and reassuring. They
told us that they work as a team; so he isn't just
getting a doctor, he's getting: a doctor,
dermatologist, and research team. They said that had
he waited any longer his wounds could have progressed
to the point of exposing the bone. They also said that
they could get the wounds to the point of being
healed, but if they were to let him go without finding
the cause of the wounds (the root of the disease),
they would just return a short time later. So they
want to study and understand the cause and work to
find the solution. They also said that sometimes God
chooses to use people for healing. My dad knows he is
in a good place and in good hands. We feel the same
way.
Looking back to yesterday, I know that had we ignored
the Holy Spirits urging my dad would probably not be
with us today. It was a very close call, likely closer
than we will ever know. But God knows, and His timing
is PERFECT. Dad has been in so much pain and honestly
felt like he would have been better off leaving this
world for the paradise of eternity. But his time on
earth is far from over. There is much more life to be
lived and experienced and savored. My parents have
truly walked out their vows: for better or worse, for
richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, tillwell
you know the rest and its not that time yet.
Please pray for the following:
-Knowledgeable doctors that will have wisdom and
heavenly insight into the problem.
-Compassionate caregivers
-Strength to endure this last leg of the trial (for
dad and family)
-Comfort from the unbelievable pain
-PEACE that passes all human understanding
-That Kennys faith would not fail him
-Complete healing and restoration
-That a solution will be found that will help people
whom have the same disease, are in pain, and possibly
alone in their suffering
-Gods plan to be revealed
-Gods Kingdom come and His will be done in Kennys
life so that He will receive the glory and honor due
His name in this situation.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for
your prayers and support.
Sharlene

thank you fore riting to me have a good day remeber that Jesus lovs you
WOW, that is something else - I can't wait to hear that man's testimony!! Meeting that nurse was definitly a divine appointment and to find out about the burn unit and how wonderful and helpful the staff is. Pretty sad to think that an EMERGENCY ROOM would send someone away, just cos they don't know what to do for someone.....sheesh.
Thanks for sharing this prayer request.

God has done a a miracle. Thank you all who did pray for me. See the results of prayer and our living Gods hand at work.
Here is a link to the site I have put up documenting this miracle.

I am not completely out of the woods, but this is nothing short of a miracle.
See it and know that our God lives and does walk through the valley of the shadow of death with us.

Blessings to all
