John and Bob in Buffalo NY
John and Bob in Buffalo NY
Hello Petheads....
Please keep our event in prayer. John and Bob will be here TWO weeks from tonight. First -- keep praying for their safe return from Norway, and then for safe travel on the 27th. We have this bad habit of having snow in Buffalo and so far so good this year, but... we trust that the Lord will take care of all of that.
Next --- we need your prayers for ticket sales. They have been sluggish and we need to fill the place. there are 670 seats and the tickets are only $10 each. We are a long way from beignt here, but I know that the Lord can do all things. Please keep this in prayer.
Thanks to Sue we are having this event -- and we are blessed that she will be there too!!!!
If you live in the Central New York, Western New York, Northern Pennsylvania Area, or even in Ontario Canada --- come to the event. For $10 you cannot miss!!!!! Help us to get the word out. Check out the concert info on St. Bartholomew's Website --- www.stbartston.org
Thanks, and may God continue to bless you all, richly.
In Him,
Fr. John

Hi Fr. John - we'll certainly be praying for all of the above. I hear you about the snow... I'm looking at some of it falling down right now. Hopefully it will go away in two weeks and we'll all have smooth flying!
Naw, no thanks to ME - thanks to the LORD who really arranged the album, the concerts, II Guys - everything. There was no master plan... it just all came together.
I have some things that worked for me as far as advertising, and doing it inexpensively. I'll send you an email!

Thanks for the concert information. I was really hoping to be able to see this tour. After ticket sales for the Farewell tour only really did well in one Ontario venue, I did not know if this tour would happen in Ontario so hearing they are coming to Buffalo is great news. If we come down it will be a quick choice. Winter combined with a border crossing after a three hour ride will make for a challenge. But this is to see John and Bob live again. We are going to try to make it. I don't even know where University of Buffalo is. We will pray about it and make a choice. I really do want to come though. By the way, is there an Ontario concert in the works that has not been announced yet? I would try to do both.

buffalo concert
Do you know if tickets will be sold at the door? I would like to come but am still unsure if I am able. Thanks!

We will be selling tickets at the door.
Mike Failla and the Kingdom Bound Worship Band will open the show with some praise and worship songs --- and then John and Bob. Mike and the band will join John and Bob onstage at the end of the show to do some songs from "Verticle Expressions." This is going to be an awesome experience -- and more importantly -- the Lord will be glorified in and by all of it.
Bob has invited "Food for the Hungry" and they will have a table; the Family Life Network will be there - and will be giving away tickets to this show all this coming week on the air, as well as a merchandise table for II Guys from Petra.
The hall is awesome with GREAT Acoustics, and should make for terrific listening. There are only 670 seats and everyone will feel like they could "Just Reach Out" and touch 'em.
If you do make it -- please make it a point to come and say hi to me too. Ask anyone with a badge where Fr. Commins is and I'll come a running.
Hope to see a lot of you there -- and to meet you.
Directions can be found on our church web site www.stbartston.org and click on the tab (on the left) "Upcoming concert - John & Bob of Petra"
God Bless,
Fr. John

which Petra songs?
Hey Sue! If I make it to the concert I will definitely try to find you. We're planning on bringing the kids (5 and 7) and were wondering which Petra songs they will most likely play so that I can tell my girls ahead of time. This way on the ride to Buffalo we can play them and have them fresh in the kids' heads.
Thanks!

WHAT A WEEKEND!
John and Bob did an awesome concert on Saturday. One of the highlights (of which there were too many to mention) was when they did "Enter In" and Bob was amazing on the acoustic guitar. It sounded like an entire string section. PLUS -- They spent time with each person at the meet and greet table - WOW!
Sunday morning they led worship at St. Bartholomew's at the 9:15 and 11 AM services. Everyone present kept talking about the worship! It was awesome. They sang from Vertical Expressions, John gave his testimony for about 20 minutes - (WOW) and then instead of the congregation standing and saying the Nicene Creed --- John and Bob sang CREED! Awesome worship.
As a special treat - they prepared one of our Rector (FR. Ward)'s favorites - to be played at Communion. They sang "Lovely Lord" while people came forward past them to recieve the Body and Blood of the Lord. It was something special!
They sang "Trading My Sorrows" as our Recessional/Closing Song - and the people resoundingly sang "Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes Yes Lord!" Wonderful worship indeed.
Sue was with us a well - and is just a real joy!
Lastly, let me say this - John and Bob were such humble servants of the Lord. If you can have them to your church for a concert - for worship - for a revival -- don't hesitate. Hundreds of people from our congregation kept asking "when are they coming back?" Just contact Sue Dempster - she'll guide you through -- and I hope they bless your and yours as wonderfully as they blessed those at University of Buffalo on Saturday night -- and at St. Bartholomew's on Sunday.
May God Bless you all -fellow Petheads -
