John, Bob, and Viktor

Post by davealward » Sun Jan 21, 2007 1:06 pm

I remember awhile back on the Zone someone said there was 'talk' of John appearing at a concert that Viktor would be at, to do some of his stuff.

Is there any chance of that still happening? Or could John and Bob go on a mini-tour with Viktor with each act getting equal billing?

It would be nice to see all these guys together once more. I'm not saying they should be best buds, but forgiveness displayed publicly would be awesome. Kind of like when Larry Norman and Randy Stonehill performed together at Cornerstonce a few years back after a long 'disagreement'.

Or what about at least an interview posted on the Net with a reputable source -ie Petra rocks my world, cmcentral.com. that would demonstrate reconciliation?

1. This was posted by Tommy of Viktor. It was not John Schlitt. Greg X Volz was said to share some dates and/or stage possibly. There were no firm dates given.

2. What does reconciliation mean? Reconciliation is "changing for the better a relationship between two or more persons." Theologically it refers to the change of relationship between God and man.

Louie is a born again believer. John is a born again believer. Bob is too. So, what needs to be reconciled biblically? Nothing.

Social chemistry is an interesting thing. It is something that must be considered and cannot be denied irrespective of the business, ministry, band, etc. No chemistry, no magic. Bad chemistry is an explosion waiting to happen. Maybe God impeded the chances for such an event by inspiring changes. Maybe it was better for them all to be apart.

This story is old and worn. But one thing is for sure. It doesn't matter any longer. Both John and Louie were part of something bigger than themselves, which changed the Christian music world and thousands of people in the process.

3. We were leaving with John at GMA Week. John saw Louie, stopped and shook his hand, made some small talk with Louie and Viktor and left.

Thanks for your perspective Edward. Perhaps you are right.

Part of me would like to see them play together again just for the sake of music history, but perhaps it is selfish of me!

I would like to see all of the memorable versions still together as well.

For me it is a matter of coming to grips with aging. Like my father before me who saw the Beach Boys kicked to the curb by the next thing, and his father who saw Inglebert Humperdink (sp?) kicked to the curb by the newest thing....I find it hard to take sometimes.

Everyone has an incarnation of their fav band, and an era that was heaven and timeless. And we all wonder why the next generation doesn't see the beauty in the art we appreciate.
