Could somebody with administrator priviliges erase these evil sex posts?
I am afraid of even visiting the Zone, thinking somebody might think I am looking at this stuff, when all I am looking for is fellowship with Petra fans.
I know this volunteer work, but if somebody would teach me how to do it I am willing to volunteer to block this ignorant Bozos and erase their un-welcome messages.
Please advise, Felipe.

Winterlens, quit proselytizing for those irritating captchas. I can't make it past them half the time. Of course that may not be considered a bad thing...
Can't we just boil spammers in oil instead? It would be great entertainment and you'd have a good stew at the end.

I realize that spammers are subhuman, but that still smacks a bit of cannibalism to me. I'm all for boiling them in oil, but eating is a little much.
How can you not evangelize captcha's though? It's a giant pronounceable acronym! As opposed to INTERCAL, which stands for "Language with No Pronounceable Acronym". That will do a mind job on you.

Actually the owner of the site has some simple options that will get rid of all these spams, but for some reason either doesn't have the time or does not know how to get the process started and/or completed. I will not be coming back often because these things are gross and very Satan driven. I will NOT have these things on my computer.

Of course how often you post here and how you deal with the bots is up to you Exe, but there is the option of simply not clicking on the links or not reading the post. You can pretty much tell by the names of the bots posting and the subject line what sort of post it is. The administrators are doing the best the best they can and deleting them as they're able; it can be more than a few people with families and work, etc. can keep up with. The changes that were made awhile back seemed to work for awhile, but the bots are starting to get around it again. The Internet is like anything else, it can be used for good or bad, and these bots shouldn't be making posts that people have to go in and delete in the first place...Although that doesn't mean it's not gonna happen. The people making the posts with those links are responsible for what they post, not the people who have to go in and delete them.

That is something I've been talking about, but nobody wants to listen. It can be set up to where only the owner and/or admins can approve a new user.

rigid precautions
What you don't understand is that there are zillions of bots registering but never posting. Only a fwe of them are smart enough to get posts to even appear on the board. If we set it up to approve new users, someone is going to be swamped with DISapproving bots, and then we run the risk of not allowing someone in who is legit.

Have you by any chance implemented anything like hidden fields? This should make it easy to tell spammers and humans apart, and lends itself nicely to email filters on the field name.

I have been deleting dozens of messages a day, so it may look like they have registered, and not posted but they have.Michael wrote:What you don't understand is that there are zillions of bots registering but never posting. Well, as a Christian, this stuff "streaking" across my screen is obvious. If you "strip" it down to it's most basic form, "pull back the covers" on internet operations, take a long look in the "mirror above the bed" of false security, you will see the "naked" truth that these bots is that they are merely the programming of someone "EXCITE"-d to "arouse" the senses of the average lonely male, with no hope of ever going on a date, or developing a relationship beyond a loving hand shake.
