John solo - rain or shine!

Post by sue d. » Wed Aug 08, 2007 9:25 am

I was at John's solo concert over the weekend in Portage, WI, and I just have to say that even though we're focusing on II Guys -- John's solo shows are SO good!

He does the new VE songs, plus Petra songs that you won't hear with II Guys, and of course, his solo music.

Even though it was raining the whole day, the crowd stuck it out and even more braved the drizzle when John came on stage.

I have to say he's the ultimate when it comes to connecting with an audience - even those who were soaking wet! They loved his set, his music, and John himself - I was kept pretty busy at the merch table... people bought up a ton of stuff.

At the church service the next morning - again, same response. The congregation sang along (loudly!) with all the praise songs, and really apprecited his preaching.

Yes, if you've ever heard John speak in a church setting, he has all the makings of a preacher. I'm not talking about his testimony, but when he starts talking on a subject that he's passionate about (namely, Jesus Christ) - you KNOW this man is full of the Spirit.

I would encourage all of you to think about having JOHN as a soloist to your church.

Concerts are not the only thing he can do!

Is John using a band on his solo concert dates or tracks?

If he is using a band...is it anybody we know?

He's using tracks - it's most cost-effective for the promoter.

Trodland, if he used Bob - then it would be a II Guys concert!
