Tapes suck. Sell em'.

Tape is rust on a low tack glue on mylar. It comes off the older it gets, the longer it sits, and the more it is played. Basically the mini magnets or rust particles, change everytime they scrape across the play head and transport, or when they are just sitting there. Eventually the tapes have increased noise, less signal (called low signal-to-noise).

If you DO want a crummy tape, make sure that they are not stored tightly wound, because the "print through" effect happens. This is where you hear a low level, ghostly, song start before it actually does. Or you hear music after the song ends.

They should be stored in a climate controled environment. High humidity kills tapes and high temperature kills tape and the enclosures.

Make sure that you de-guass your heads and transports. They will eventually magnetize and cause your tapes to erase when you play them.

"Bedefunct band's surprise reunion on a Duluth, Minn., cable program"

Huh? Petra hasn't had a surprise reunion unless they're talking about the Farewell DVD - and that wasn't a surprise.

just in case you are not familiar with Lark News...

"LarkNews is a satirical newspaper published by Joel Kilpatrick.
LarkNews uses invented names in all its stories, except in cases when public
figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and
coincidental.

That satirical article is from 2003 (look closely at the URL) and has been posted to the Petra Zone before... although I can't find it via search. So it was before Petra called it quits. :)

Hey, Revival is missing!! Where did it go?

Great shelf!! I would need more than a couple of those to store all my Petra-stuff.
